Sort of, the shot had been played, she wasn't in the process of playing the stroke as it happened.

I would say that you are correct, given the circumstance and the fact of her brand new bat being snapped, she was allowed to continue batting, if I was captain of a fielding side and this occured, I'd allow the batsman to continue, you'd have to be a prick to let them walk.
