then why did craig lawn (the secretary) send us an email earlier in the year after the WOS incident that we all were able to play in byes and washed out games... then change his decision after at the next meeting?

That is a question you would have to ask him. I don't see why he would have done that, not saying he didn't.

The decision was changed because it was the wrong one.

all we are saying bloods is that if this was taken to court we would win... you cant give a bloke 10 years jail for fraud, and give the mirror image of him community service for the same offence... i understand it was the wrong decision to play sboro but if the precident has been set then it stays like that untill the agm... you told us if we dont like a rule then attend the agm, well it seems asthough we dont have to now as we now found out rules can be changed mid season

Not to add fuel to the fire, but was the same mistake repeated with Tam playing for NH against us? Or was that a different case?

No because NH didnt ask for a permit. I believe the association are looking into this, and NH could end up losing the point they gained from that game. Due to not asking for a permit for a dual registered player to play in a game! (if i understood the meeting correctly)

i somehow dont think that possibly losing the 1 point they gained in that game is going to affect them at all!

Looking at the table, it will make a massive difference.
5 points behind 2nd to bottom. It will then make it 6 points. Which is a win away, if the side above loses a game outright. If they lose a game where NH win, it will only be gaining 5 points and therefore still bottom.

It will affect them greatly!

On a side note:

Where have the Plympton boys gone? Have they got nothing to talk about since Heath Streak has not turned up to training or a game as of yet?

Ok some real cricket talk. There are 4 games remaining this year who is everyone's early tip for the Hewitt medal? No player has just been a standout this year like Sampson and Rowe were last year. I can see it going to a darkhorse this year. Not sure who yet though.

Good topic Sarge.

It could be a darkhorse this year, but theres no clear favourites so darkhorses is near everyone!

Heath would be rather close. I think Hoppy could be up there because we have won games and he has done a bit in most games (dont think he has had the best year though).

Stef Basso could go close and would be someone that deserves it because he is such a great bloke!

Looking at the matches, i would have Hopkins from 10-13 votes, and McKay on 9 votes and possibly 10. Could be a close finish! I dont think Hopkins has bowled that well this year and definitely struggled with the bat early on! Be interesting to see.
your thoughts Sarge?

IMO Basso could be anywhere from 5-8 votes after 7 rounds.
Calderbank to be a chance, along with Ben Cameron as a smokey as he has done a good job with Bat and Ball all year for Sheidow, being involved in close games and also not many standouts this year for Sheidow.

Would be great to see camo win it!

That is where I got the Darkhorse from because I think Camo is a chance. He has been Sheidows best bowler this year and probably has 6 or 7 votes. Would probably need a couple of best ons in the last 4 games to win it. I also think Basso could win it but it is hard when you only bat. It is usually an allrounders award as shown last year by the top 5. Fordy was the only player last year who earnt all his votes with the bat. Rowe, Sampson, Pritchard and myself all earnt votes with the ball at stages.

Are you saying Fordy wouldnt have earnt votes last year with the gloves? ;)

You need, as a batter, 2-3 hundreds and a couple of scores over 50 in low scoring games where there is no dominant bowlers to win the medal. To think that Richard Press has never won one. That shows how difficult it is

Well, didnt my post cause a reaction. First let me say that although the WYC boys were part of what happened with the young fella, I can say that it was all about what the alcohol was doing to both parties, and I can honestly say that in the light of day, nothing was ever going to happen. Sure the WYC boys were pumping up his tyres, and flattery and lots of Jagers gets you every where to a just turned 18 year old.
PS WYC, stop trying to pick the eyes out of the competition ;)

So with this clearance issue.

The Assosciation allowed some to come back from District duties to play a game ( in the middle of the game? )

They then realised it was the wrong thing to do and wont make the same mistake again?

Now someone who might get dropped from District duty has cracked the shits because he might not get a game one week?

If all the above is correct ( which I gather it is ) just move on.

NO! I will talk crap just for the sake of it.
Geez, i might talk crap, but anyone reading the last 3 pages of posts would be happy to see some of my humor.
I would rather have a laugh about our great game than carry on like a pork chop because i could not have my cake & eat it too.
Simple fact to jb, you made the choice to play district cricket, and whether or not you have been a great servant to the ASCA & Sheidow, you should abide by the ruling handed down.
I have no idea who you are, and quite frankly do not give a toss, but i am a life member of my club and i have never thought that i am owed anything by the league or my club. Suck it up!

Jb isn't close to getting dropped Booney.

Also the WOS player who was allowed(incorrectly) to play was on the test match weekend and on another instance when a district game was washed out.
