I am sure Southport will start very well like most seasons, coming up to Christmas they will be 2nd or 3rd and then after Christmas they will fall apart...its happened a few seasons in a row now.

thats probably about the time they have to leave there home ground? They are a bit like collingwood they dont play away from home to often.

Just popped into the Risdon for an early lunch and I have to say I enjoyed the Gorilla Grilled Chicken Breast, and Shauny's Shanks - a lovely dish prepared by Shauny edwards topped off with Jubbás "Champagne showers" sauce. Deeeeeeeeeeeeelicious.
I had a few pots at the front bar and heard some whispers that a Props left armer is considering a move to Risdon, Southport may have secured another international recruit, and that Sollies are in talks with a Strykers stalwart to bolster their squad.

the left armer would have to be goodridge unless you are getting andrew fowler out of retirement. south port who really cares about there recruits as not one of them has been any good they are just a waste of money and costing a local a game.they need a lot more than one signature thats for sure. And i think we have asked sam hunt to join our coaching staff as skills coach thats all not to play.

Not sure who you are referring to when you mention "champions league", but if you mean "b" grade i hope it's tongue in cheek cause there ain't no champions in piries b grade comp. Obtained a program from a mate i'm told it is only a draft and has to be approved at a meeting this tuesday or wednesday. Couple of days before the season starts, can you believe it. B grade is prop v risdon (globe,am), south-port v strykers(port), bats v wandies(complex 1) and solly v pt germein (globe,pm). rember draft only at the moment.

Cheers bigstack, B grade is definitely the champions league with the A grade being the IPL

Looks like Risdon v Props is MOTR by a long way, disappointed Strykers aren't playing in the afternoon because they cook a mean BBQ.

will the SMURF and his army allow anyone to cook a BBQ at his home or is that against the rules at the hallowed port turf?

Today's preview is Wandearah A Grade
Strengths:
Experience. A big Club with lots of off field support. Some genuine quicks in Gillett and Button. Greg Carmody is one of the top three players in the competition. Matt Thornton should be better from, by all (facebook) accounts, scoring a mountain of runs in England. Cody Brooke is one of the better juniors in the competition. Wandies have the benefit of playing many games at Port Oval. Can also use Port oval nets for training sessions. Sensational record against Props in Finals. Well led by Marc Congdon.
Weaknesses:
Arithmetic.
Question marks:
Will Rob Anderson play?
Will Gabe Turci play?
Has Marc Congdon bought a calculator?
Who will step up and support Carmody with the bat?
Will Sunil Cook come across from Solomontown to play under Congdon?
Can Matt Thornton cope with the pressure that his facebook posts have created?
Can this squad rebound from what would have been a disappointing exit from the Finals last season?
Will Wandies be playing matches against Props and Sollies at Port Oval?
Best Grewar medal chance:
Greg Carmody.
This team has an unnamed player similar to this well known cricketer:
Graeme Hick

brilliant ! if thornton is making a mountain of runs over there it just shows you that the comp isnt real flash.Gabe turci will play of course he has been going to retire for the last three years, thats the funniest story before every cricket season gosh if he doesnt play none of us sides will ever get a run out against wandies. I also think you will find that it is not just props and sollies that mighten be playing at port oval ? beleive strykers,pt germein, warnertown, risdon are all on the same page.

maybe they will have neville thomson cooking the BBQ and will be giving away free steak sandwiches for free to the players and supporters of the clubs playing there? Surely they have to give something away to clubs playing over there and not just wandies and south port?
