Southern to continue their long term campaign, started last year, in progressing their outstanding juniors through the senior ranks.
Would expect they're 3-4 years away from realistically challenging the top clubs.

The group of youngsters coming through have been together for a few years and been very successful. Southern banking on them wanting to continue their progress together.

Shark Hunter, you are fairly right about Bourney. Spoke to the great man tonight. Although he will play in the A's this weekend, he will generally play B's thus allowing Russell Biar and Simon Wiese to play A's. Another addition for us this year is Logan Pastyn returning from injury. Makes our spin bowling department very strong with Pastyn, Bocky and Lewis.

Most clubs will be understrength due to missing State players. We will be without Matthew Elliott, James Smith, Peter George, Brad Cachopa and Jarrad Taylor.

Why no Jarrad Taylor? Unless he's playing 2nd XI?

Heater, yes this is for the One Day comp on Monday.
Westsider, JT is still overseas. He won't be back until the following week. Brad Cachopa flies in about Tuesday or Wednesday of next week too.

Not sure about a general comp, Knees. They are having a Legends 20/20 comp though, commencing on December 5.

The Blacks faced the Seahorses at the Adelaide Oval last night in round 4 of the XXXX Gold One Day Cup.
That they were allowed to play under lights at the Adelaide Oval was a tribute to both clubs in their Centenary years.
In what was an entertaining game at a venue not often graced by our district cricketers the Blacks ran out victors by about 40 runs.
Points of note, from memory:
1. Dan Christian made his Adelaide Oval debut in circumstances he may not have predicted. Looking resplendant in Black he bowled at a fair click and smashed a few without ever looking 100%.
2. Spooner 30s for both Adcock and Delmont.
3. Adcock would have enjoyed being clapped off Adelaide Oval as he led his players from the arena.
4. Plant missed out, Scholz brained 'em for 60 odd to be top scorer for the match. Hit Rofe for a massive zak one bounce and iot the VR gates
5. Rofe looks a little out of sorts. Took 3 wickets but went for few when Scholz was on the rampage.
6. Adelaide Oval looked absolutely magnificent. A real treat for a lot of the players and a pleasant evenings viewing for the spectators.

Did anyone see the Twenty20 at Henley Oval last night? Saw Brown smashed them and Bassett got a few as well. How did Freddy look - could he actually hold a bat or just get a bit lucky against Jimmy Smith's little 'nudie' off-spinners?
