Gee the Turf Administration have outdone themselves this time

From the Turf website:

The ATCA will hopefully have the final fixtures to send to all club secretaries tomorrow (Friday)

The first draft of the fixtures that was sent out to clubs on Tuesday had obviously many mistakes judging by the feedback the ATCA has received. The ATCA is meeting with another computer technician this afternoon to give the computer one last chance. He feels confident that he can have the final fixtures done by tomorrow leaving only a few clubs whose requests cant be fulfilled. It will be then up to those clubs to organise their own requests and that may mean playing on a Sunday or under lights or forfeiting. Hopefully the final fixtures will be sent to all club secretaries tomorrow (Friday) so they have the long weekend to pick any obvious mistakes.

If the computer package fails us once more it will be recommending to the Board that we postpone the start of the season by one week, meaning the senior two day competition will start on the 14th of October as a one day game. This will allow the emergency committee of ATCA to draw up the fixtures manually.

This sounds like a ludicrous situation. It should only take someone with basic computer programming/maths/stats skills a couple hours to program up an adequate fixture list.

Part of me feels like volunteering to help them out of this situation, but I think I have better things to do...and I do play in a rival association

Whats going on? Mr Darling (or should that be Hitler) should of stayed on the tractor on kept cutting the lawns at Urrbrae. He has no idea!!!! Earlier this week he had a junior cricket workshop and the clubs had to make the draw for the season, when mistakes were found and told to him by 9am the next morning he said "I think we will stay with what we got from last night". Does he listen? Has he any idea? Has anyone had any dealings with him? I personally think he should of stuck to chewing gum in the 80's!!!! He will ruin turf cricket!! Despite what someone said about Ramsey and NT Cricket he did a bloody good job for the ATCA and Darling is stuffing up everything!!! I suppose when you pay peanuts you get monkeys

Clubs have received the fixtures but for whatever reason they haven't been put on the Turf website yet. Games are scheduled to go ahead this weekend.

Dog's breakfast.

Here's the latest:

Please see attached the final fixtures for 06/07 for Premier grade to C3. The LOs and Juniors will be out early next week.

I must apologise for the delay but with the lessons I have learnt this year will certainly not happen next year.

We have tried to accommodate many of your requests but some were impossible. Some clubs have been allocated grounds where clashes have occurred. If you are not happy with the ground it is your responsibility to organise another and liaise with the grounds secretary/curator etc and inform the ATCA office. It you are satisfied with the ground you have been allocated it is still up to you to liaise with the grounds secretary/curator.

It is hoped that the fixtures will be on the web by the weekend. In the mean time can all secretaries make their members aware of venues, times etc. Please note that the playing times are the same as last season, if in doubt check Bylaw D3,D4 and D5.

Please also note that the LO Grades will now play 18 rounds instead of 19 with the 23rd December OFF.

Good luck for the season and hoping we all have a rain free, heat free and incident free season.

Surprise, surprise the Program for atleast C3 has changed again.

Could prove costly for the ATCA if clubs have prepared a wicket that they no longer need as I can see clubs sending them a Bill for the expense of it.

Looks like with some Early season warm weather there may have been some batting belters combined with some rusty bowlers and fielders judging by the scores in the Sunday Mail.

A few scores over over 400, quite a few over 300, and a large amount over 200.

As with most weeks there was still low scoring games.

After being involved in the game at Matheson Reserve I think there will be a lot of large scores made there this season. A flat dead batters paradise with a lightning outfield. Should make for interesting cricket though.

Punter,

Your spot on, looks like flat tracks will be the order this year. Oh to be a batsman but then they will finf something else to complain about, the dust might get in thier eyes.

Dont think we will get many games washed out but a few might get called of due to the heat, would really **** you , if you scored 400 plus and then the game was called of the next week casue if was 39

I saw the FUCC play Payneham last weekend for a couple of hours. Their bowlers were well and truly "FUCCed" by Mosey and Underwood to the tune of 441. They need all the bowlers they can get.

Well Adelaide Turf has finally proven how far they have sunk in running a professional organisation with the CANCELLATION of ALL Limited Overs grades this weekend due to no having a program ready that was suitable.

LOB for instance had Brighton playing away games all season.

I'd like to say that it is unbeleiveable but the dissapointing thing is that it isn't. What a farce.
