Heard the Valleys have an interesting left arm spinner, very similar to Paul Adams, that is about to take A2 by storm. Can you confirm Azza?

I knew we where in talks with a player that from last year has changed his action a bit in the off season, but must be true , maybe we have signed the shaun oconnor from para hills, can you confirm from your end plumb?

I think you may have your mail mixed up Azza. Pretty sure last year when I played against the Hills O'Connor is a right arm bowler. Also not sure if I'd chase his signature, I didn't really rate him.

Word has it he has started bowling with his left hand and being the talent that he is, is turning it a mile, far better then when he bowled with the right, i think the chance meeting with the great Terry Jenner gave him the confidence to switch hands , which will make him a force this year in A2 , hence why we would be chasing his signature , other clubs would be silly not to have a crack also

It was just unfortunate that we didnt have the services of vaughan (rebacks) , mcphee (injured), lipsett (location) , which was a fair chunk of our batting line up , and i strongly believe if these players played, we would still be there as it was only our batting that let us down. From a club point of view i guess you strive to play at the highest level possible and ultimately will give it a go whether you have the cattle or not

You guys were good enough, probably from what I could tell just lacked belief from who you lost. Probably need a quality spinner too especially at your ground. Most of your batsmen were technically solid for high level turf cricket. Give it time, the younger blokes will have benefitted from this year and you will have a foundation to build on and hopefully a hunger.

Thanks Rainbow, talking to the group after last year , everyone was disappointed that we were not having another crack at the top grade, the young guys definitely took alot out of last year , and we all have the hunger to get back up there and give it another crack!

you also lost a young quick bowler to a grade club.

Yes we did star, the pull of family ties and mates i think got him back there, always thought he would of got more out of playing in the A's last year in turf then he did playing C and D grade. But only he would know the reasons why ( and maybe you ). Always welcome at the valley he is.

did manage a b grade game, at a club with a very strong bowling line up, i think his brother had a lot to do with it and the chance to test himself at a higher level of training and game day were his main pulls, hadnt been there before the valleys

I played both last season.
I played about 5 -6 games for the A Grade & the rest for the B Grade.

Cant wait for us to actually start training.....

hmmmm... got me curious as to who you are. I have my suspicions ;) Looking to play a few more a-grade games this year?

Hopefully the b's can pick up a few extra wins this year to keep everyone keen.

See you in Round 14 chaps.
FWIW - the LOA competition is looking a lot stronger this coming season. Not expecting too may easy games whereas in the last few years there has always been a team or two who were pretty ordinary.

Hell    It claims on the ATCA website in the announcement section that one of the Gepps Cross coaches has made 27,000 career runs. Well done Beamer or did you write that article yourself?

I believe they mistook "runs" for "donuts" ;)

He's made quite a few, but 27,000 would mean over 1,000 every season he's played. Don't think the great man is quite that great.
