It was only forecast to be 38C, on the way to our game the current temp was 39C. Im not qualified and wont tell you 38C is too hot to play cricket, the ppl that did the science and other experts are and that is what they are telling you.
How you prepare the night before or how much fluid u take in are only small factors in the equation, you can do all the right things in terms of preperation, fluid intake etc and still sucumb to the effect of the heat. You should check out the link i posted above for more info.
Remember the competition you play in and what it is there for. We are not conditioned athletes, we are just average guys wanting to play some cricket.
In my opinion it is more dangerous to play during a hot day than it is to play when it's pissing with rain.
You can't reschedule following games for the remainder of the season because you play a one day match on the first week of a 2 day game, think about it.
