I am not sure this is a double standard, but i am aware of a few incidents last year in which it is fair to say you weren't treated the same as others were.

Our C Grade were destroyed by a guy that myself, Fordy and Jib have all played with this year.

Did he leave Southern or did he return during a bye round?

Yeah i think that was different, not right, but he was given a permit to play. You, JB and Jibba all would have gotten a permit that weekend too if you had asked.

I think that point shows why we shouldn't allow permits for blokes to return when it suits them

Were trying to field a competitive side and again were not allowed our C grade has had a horrid year yet a guy playing the same level as the 2 players where trying to have play comes out and hits 80 odd in Section 3 yet we cant have 1 play a higher grade. I also think you'll find that a majourity of district players played for their local club during the bye and id say that they'll be playing again next week.

We maybe our leading run scorer and equal leading wicket taker short but cant replace them players that are still registered to our club lets just hope our young blokes fire the next 2 weeks then and get the job done.

I wouldn't think that would be the case. I would think that most district players have the weekend off.

well bloods it is the case pal, most of the southern boys go back to the sca or the gsca... Especially this week, personally i was looking forward to resting up with finals and playing in engalnd around the corner but it just so happens i need a hit because of the lack of cricket and bad form... Ive spoken to southern they said there is no reason for asca to stop me. If i cant get a permit then ill go elsewhere

Booney wrote:CK, do you think my proposed One-day comp ( played every second week ) would appeal to the A and B graders who wish to drop down a little? I dont think so. Only playing every other week would not be enough for some.

I dont think it would Booney. I thought your proposed one day comp was near faultless and was something IMO that the association should have taken up. Its a pity it didnt pass. I think it would have been better then two 8 team comps in sect 6 and sect 7 where our D grade play the same side in the last two games of the year.

With the Sheidow boys, JB you use the excuse that you want to play because you have had a lack of cricket due to weather. Well sorry mate but thats the chance you take when you left hard wicket cricket to play turf. Yes Sheidows C grade had a bloke play against them that played district with Jibba, sarge and JB. The association said at the time, if Sheidow asked for permits, they would have received them. However they also said that due to WOS struggling for numbers they accepted it aswell. Also, at the next meeting, they stated that this would not be allowed again for the rest of the year.

Plus, if this is all happening after Jan 31st, a dual registration means SFA. Cant change associations after Jan 31. Simple!

So Coverking. If Jib were to get dropped next game from Southerns D Grade, That is it for him for the rest of the year? No more cricket because He has nowhere to go back to.

I couldn't care less whether he plays or not, infact i would enjoy if he,sarge and jibba all played against us. I am just stating that i don't think he will be allowed to play by the association because of the things that were stipulated at the last meeting.

So WYC get their first home game in the 20/20 at the expense of the Ramblers. What a shame.

One of our young lads went out with a group of opposition players on the weekend after sundays association matches, got fed quite a few alcoholic beverages and then got pressured into signing a clearance form. The president of there club wouldnt allow it saying he was too intoxicated ( good on the prez) Not the best of practices in my opinion.
