Think ICC will take the honours but I don't mind seeing WYC get up as we will claim top spot, even if only till the big games after xmas. Only the 2nd game between top 4 sides. Keswick are a real chance against Sheidow, especially after Ford retires hurt from a McKinley short ball right between the guard and helmet, but I think Sheidow are too solid. South rd rely on one bloke, so won't be tipping them. Beware Glenelg, maybe age has caught up with S Rowe (?) but he was no.1 bat in our comp going back a few years...he must be due. Coromandel to pull off the shock of the round, they will not go season without a win and I think this could be the won...Westminster not travelling well at the minute...will J Murphy be back?

Maybe he will dine out on your bowling AF   .

Probably not, but i dont think this week will be the week they knock up a win. Still got the players to do the job. Hot tip - Dan McCann to make a big score this week, he has been robbed from the umpires last couple of knocks after making starts.

Nah mate i very rarely bowl :( . It will be interesting to see how they go though the bays as players like S Rowe and Basso are too good not to make a score at some stage so watch out for the team they have a day out against.

I know you rarely bowl...doesn't change my point!!! I'm pretty sure you might have had an over or two against us tho. We have plenty of bowlers to chuck the ball to, so between one of us we should get the wickets.

I've also since found out that a couple of blokes I thought were u21 in our As are 22, so we only have 1 u21 in sect 1 with a few in section 2. Brad Davenport for us is only 17 but should be in assoc side. Made 28 opening batting on weekend and bowls up to 10 overs every week - been very unlucky not to take more wickets.

fair enough to say he should be in there...but we beat adelaide turf with the caddle we had which is a pretty good effort if u ask me considering how serious the turf boys take it with their warm ups before the game...pffft who needs to warm up at 21yrs old?

Don't worry boy, I'm not claiming he should have your opening spot. I just think he's better than one or two blokes in there that I've never seen do a thing against us. Perhaps they've done more in other games.

so he would take my opening spot?? haha
honestly i dont think there will be any changes bar cheek, our bowling will be strengthend by his inclusion, and we also have J.McCormack, S.Cooke, K.Wild from wyc who has already taken 10 wickets, S.Foster as the spinner and Quirk as our part timer who bowled 5 or so overs and got a couple of overs. So i think our side will not change too much, and he will obviously get his go in the next 4 years or so!

Davenport went alright against us last year AF and looks to be a good young talent for you guys and he will play his fair share of u/21 association. But i am unsure of who he would knock out of the current side which is a very strong side. Is there anyone in particular you think AF should come out for Davenport?

Middlin from Plympton - is he up to it? (He played first game, did he play on weekend?) Also, someone mentioned there was a player from a sec 2 b grade in the team. surely can't be more useful than our bloke.

I would agree it is a very strong team either way. How long since we had beaten turf in u21?

I don't think we had beaten them before as we have at u/21 level only been playing them for 3 or 4 years. There was a guy that made it from our b grade who has played section 1 so you could make a case for Davenport to be ahead of him but i don't think Middlin made the side CK or JB could confirm.

How have the clubs still in the T20 comp gone about organising their games?

We have had problems with Sth Rd as they are only available this Sunday afternoon, which is test match weekend, and not at all during the week. It is now in the hands of the association to deal with as we can't organise a time between us. Despite our best efforts to be available as often as possible, that being 5 nights a week from 4p.m. onwards and this Sunday morning to enable us to get to the test as early as possible, yet they are available only one afternoon. I think they should be forced to forfeit the game if it is not played before the next meeting.

nah we had never beaten them so was good to finally get one up on them after losing the last two in nail biters with Turf putting on over 40 for the last wicket to win, on both occassions. The guy from sec 2 is from our club, he has played sec 1 but atm we are pretty set, but he will play sec 1 very soon. We also have a bloke in our A grade side that cant make the 21s at the moment so yeah i guess its just what specific roles we want guys to field and who fits that best.
And bloods, South Road are definitely being soft in our view, its disgraceful they are not wiling to budge at all, we have provided 16 days of play, they have provided 1 day and one time. It should go to a forfeit, because what more can we do?

u21 & association game on Dec 7th?

Sounds pretty poor from South rd, but would like to hear their side. When is next association meeting? I assume we would be playing 20/20 on Dec 7th.

i think north haven dont want it on the 7th either by the sounds of it caus they have a couple in the 21s side...and i think we are having a 21s training next week some stage AF so that Davenport should come out than, and if he is only 17, he will be the only one not too have a big one on the sat nite so we will be hoping for him to make a ton haha

If you go to the test on Sunday you will see the mighty ramblers in all their glory. 25 blokes in blue shirts and afros. Expecting some decent coverage from channel 9.
