I think most WYC players struggled to hit anything outside off stump as it only come once every two overs. There was a heap of leg side stuff from your bowlers with probably you as the only exception for the majority of your overs.

Firstly - hi to everyone, haven't logged in all year.

Secondly - doesn't look like I'm missing much. Reason I haven't logged in is last season it was all:
Club X are a bunch of knobs
Club Y should be demoted
Person Z can't captain/bowl/bat and whatever other form of derogatory comments coming from the cheap seats
And of course then the follow-ups from people defending their mates/club/ground etc. Rinse and repeat.

Looking back over the recent few pages, I had to check I was in the 2010/11 thread and not last year's.

Nothing changes eh?

Thirdly - Good on those who discuss real topics that matter such as future path for the game of cricket and the betterment of the association. The rest of it, in my opinion, can hopefully die a quick and painful death.

And last but not least, best of luck to teams in the GF this week and commiserations to those who missed out.

Gee, last time i checked this was a public forum. Where you can pretty much talk about anything to do with the A&SCA.
If you don't like what you read stay logged out then. Or start a thread titled "future path for the game of cricket and the betterment of the association" And chat away all you like in there!

So for the betterment of the Association & cricket then.....
Demote WOS.
South Road are a bunch of knobs, so get them out of the league.
As for bad Captains/Bowlers/Batsmen, well i cover all those bases.
Look forward to the comebacks.

For the betterment of the League & cricket of course ;)

I just had a look through the team that is on my-cricket and all of the players named on there have played most of the season in section 6, bar one player who had played 3 games and only 3 games (for the club) upto round 11 in section 6. Whats the minimum number of game you need to play finals? Is it 3 or 4?

Unregistered player in our D grade? No idea who that is because I'm sure all of the players in the game on the w.e have played majority of the year in the d grade...we only have 13 ppl qualified for the d grade finals IIRC

Not registered , Qualified, i think they might be talking about Blackman, who should of needed a permit because he played 5 games in section 4 and only 4 games in section 6. Think the laws (heard second hand) was that its 3 games to qualify but half or more need to be in the lower grade, hence he needed to play more then half in section 6 other wise he would need a permit, which is the case here.

Does that rule apply when a higher grade is also playing finals? Thought if higher grades were playing the qualifications don't matter.

Only when 2 consecutive teams are playing.

Thanks baz. Still, I believe Sheidow shouldn't have won. There was also talk of complaining over only 10 overs being played when a game nearby got most of a day in. I think after farrugia refusing to play anywhere else all year it is just karma to a team who wanted others to also be dropped back when they couldn't play finals!

Major oversight by WYC! Sheidow will go through. Highly doubt the player would have been given a permit by the ASCA. Keswick went through this process and were denied with a stronger case for a permit being given.

Looking at his stats it is hard to see why he was even dropped back to section 6 after good results/form.
