If blokes are enjoying their cricket on and off the field they generally stay put. You guys have a fair turnover of recruits.

this is correct. captains of the sides have a fair influence over this and have to mould the team to enjoy each other company and also encourage the off field socializing. one thing that problem hurt us is we split our training nights for the AGrade, done wonders on the field but hurt off the field.

Not really, I'd be pretty concerned if my club attracted players only to have them leave a season or two later, especially if you're handing out good coin. We'd rather see better incentives for the youth that we have to try and retain them and help us out for the future than fork out for a fly by nighter.

the money people received wouldnt buy them a datsun beat up piece of crap, some people must be hard up if a exta 500 is going to help them out. i think what your saying with the kids maybe correct but if a club wants to strive to play A1 they have to look at recruiting or you may as well play A3 B1

Don't most cubs have a turn over of recruits?? Having played at Ingle Farm in the past there not a bad bunch of lads to have a beer with after the game or during the week.

I agree. We have had a few tight, competetive games against Ingle Farm in recent seasons, but unlike a few other clubs, no matter what happened during the game, a beer and a laugh was enjoyed afterwards. You can't blame them for recruiting heavily in recent years, as they were only trying to better their list, it's just unfortunate for them that some of those recruits didn't hang around for as long as Ingle Farm would've liked.

Bulldogs, IO - What has happened to Daniels, Cochrane, Sproule etc?? The first two definately handy cricketers.

I tell you what if you don't enjoy playing cricket at Ingle Farm im not sure what else the club could do. Everyone i have found to be very welcoming and the players are all really decent blokes. Sometimes as a recruit it's not all about you, you have to try and fit in with club cultures and actually try and fit in rather than sitting back and waiting to be feed with a spoon.

Since i have come to the club a couple of seasons ago i have been treated like i have been there for the past 10 years. I love playing out there. I have meet people there that i know are loyal and built friendships that mean much more than any $$$ can buy. Friendships are the reasons we should be playing for and team succsess.

Who cares if I/F have had a turnover of recruits atleast there trying to better the clubs results how on earth can they be knocked for this!

Daniels was a big loss - lost interest he is a pretty un motivated lad, new employment and plays footy
Cochrane Div 1 footballer didnt want to commit
Sproule - Played footy for CBOC, full on into cycling during summer
Kells - Big left arm bowler Div 1 footy has a young family

There is a couple of others who came thru the juniors as well. We had been banking on these boys playing but for reasons above they havent over the last few seasons. We do have some young talent coming thru.

By investing in your own youth and giving them incentive to play A's, succeed and build a stronger culture. I couldn't imagine much better than sitting on the deck at Ingle Farm padded up watching the cricket and waiting to go in, there's definitely some attractions in playing out there.
It does mystify me how many players leave after a short period of time, it must be frustrating to the faithful.

In regards to Juniors.

Ingle Farm have 3 or 4 Junior Lads running around in senior ranks at district level. Jayden Shepard is one who is currently playing As and Bs at Prospect. Matt Cuconits played State U/17s two yr ago and was the leading run scorer for SA in the carnival plays at TTG.
We also have probably 10 playing in the 14s or 16s with some of these lads getting some games in the lower grades at District Level.
We strongly encourage our kids to try out at District in the hope there cricket goes further for these lads.

There's only one pathetic person I know, the guy that sends ten emails a day, someone that cannot cope with the decision of someone moving forward. If you spent as much time recruiting, as you did annoying and pestering Scott, your team might be looking good. The grass is greener on this side of bridge road GO THE BULLS! I would like to congratulate Puffa on singing with Pooraka last night.
