7+7 is considered a separate comp to the other sections. Otherwise you would be trying to compare which section it is equivalent to, or which sections it fits between.... not possible. Therefore any unqualified players require a permit even if it's to section 1.

I'll be surprised if this comp is around next year unless the clubs involved considered it a roaring success. Logistical nightmare for the assoc.

If North Haven win section 2 then they will go up.

Sheidow Pk have finished bottom in section 1, 3rd bottom in section 2, bottom in 3, bottom in 4, bottom in 5 and made the finals in section 6. As a club it is clear they need to go down a grade with all of their sides. This may not happen to the section 1 side if North Haven don't win it but i would suspect and be pushing that North Haven are offered the chance to come up regardless of where they finish this year. If they don't win section 2 this year then they will have a choice but i suspect there will be no choice if the do win it this year.

Don't think it's cut and dry. If North Haven win sect 2 but have a bunch of blokes not wanting to play Sect 1 and won't play there, then they won't come up if Sheidow don't want to come down. This has happened in the past when both clubs agree.

Which is exactly what Tight Lines was getting at when he says clubs are dictating terms to the Assoc.

In 7 seasons of playing section 1, I have never seen the competition so tight from first to last!! Sheidow Park are a very competitive side proven by them winning the twenty20. I understand that rules are put in place but is North Haven coming up into section 1 going to strengthen the comp? IMO, no. Is it written down in the constitution that relegation/promotion is to occur each year? besides, NH didn't want to come up this year is that correct? Agree with Moe, can't let a club say "okay, we're ready now" and them get their way. correct me if I'm wrong but is the idea of section 1 meant to be the 'premier division' in ASCA? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It isn't the associations problem if they don't want to play section 1.

If they win section 2 they go up for mine.

My prediction for this weekend

WYC V CORO

I have a feeling this will be a closer contest than most will think. Coro have been down for sometime but are a quality side and have showed that they can produce a result when it is most needed. On the other hand WYC have dominated this comp all year and only
lost against South Rd late in the year due to some handy players not playing.
Lost to Belair because they could have underated Belair's bowling attack or they just had an off day.

WYC have brought in Luders from injury for the finals but this could play in Coros favour with team balance as I believe the young leggy was a big bonus for their side both bowling and batting...Has he been dropped or cant play finals?
I have never seen Luders btw so may be a gun?

As good as the WYC team is I think momentum is massive for Coro atm

My pick is Coro...just!

As for the other one I dont wish to make any comments.

Boozers young Mcdowall will be back playing this week he couldn't play both weeks last game. Someone will be the unlucky one to miss out for us this week but it won't be Luders or McDowall.

Always played for us Even when he went to West Torrens for a while he still continued to play junior cricket with us. Not sure if we will have him next year, as he definitely should be pushing for Higher honours at another club in the district comp.

Can't wait for this game of cricket, no doubt it will go into the last 30minutes of the second day. Should be a cracker

 The game or the celebrations from the previous night ..... the way you guys bat and Coro's recent inability to occupy the crease there is no chance of going that far unless there is a dramatic turnaround.

As much as that would be great and i'm all for celebrating (hard), there is no way in hell that the boys from coro are going to let that happen. They have an absolute quality line up that can produce something amazing at any time of the year. Look at last week for example. They have not had the best run in to finals but you can bet your bottom dollar that they (and us of course) will be knuckling down and giving everything they can to bat their 75 overs.

Having said that, if any of you coro boys would like to give it up on the first days play then you can find me in hindley street somewhere and i will be shouting you drinks all night ;) ;)

Haven't tipped all year, and really I am not the kind of person who anilyzes and dissects teams like others.
So having said that, I will shake my answer ball & check my mood ring, look at an astrology chart & check the chinese new year calendar.

If I picked teams I like : Plympton by a street. WYC just. ( Don't dislike Coro, just met a few more WYC boys )
If I picked teams on their form v MPCC this year : WYC by miles & Plympton just.
If I picked teams by alphabetical order : Coro & Plympton

So it's Plympton & WYC for Moe

Great effort by you boys to have three sides in the finals and also be 6 (or 7) runs off having all 4 grades in the finals. Thats definitely our club is striving for, instead of just the A grade we are hoping to have 3-4 sides every year in the finals. Last year we had 2, with the D grade losing the GF, but they went up a grade and consolidated their position in div 5. B grade just missed out by 6 runs in the end, after losing to Keswick in section 2 in the second to last game, which if we won, we would have had their spot in the 4.

Good luck to all sides in finals, except Coro ;)
