The system in place now is best suited for the elite clubs and makes these clubs stronger and the weaker ones weaker. How can relegating a clubs A grade team from A3 to B1 to bring up a clubs 2nd team from B1 to A3 in lieu strengthen this club? The system is designed for the premier league elite clubs. Makes it very hard for these weaker clubs to recruit players when they are in B1. quote]

Look at B1 as Div 4 and try to get back to A3 (Div 3). With the uneven comp in A3 from previous years I think the new model works well, with Brighton's B playing finals last season. Why would we drop them down to B1and have them thrash everyone every week?

Reynella were competitive and apart from a brillant innings by Pottsy they would be a lot better position.
Goodwood finished with 334 of which Potts made 168 and Staggy got 60 odd.
When he bought his hundred up the total was about 120.

I think the Reynella boys are keen to learn and put the hard work in. It will take time for the bowlers to get used to turf and out of the hardwicket habbits. They were keen in the field and never gave up at anytime.

For a wicket being used for the 1st time ever it played like a traditional Les Burdett Wicket. A bit in it early and then was a batting belter. There was only a couple balls late in the day that did something unexpected.

In my opinion Reynella you can be very proud of your efforts first up and the work you have put in on the wicket square was amazing. Just if the council could have helped out and not topdressed the oval last week.

Punter,

Fair analysis mate. i was pretty inpressed with how the wicket played for a first up game on it. the outfield left a bit to be desired but i am sure that will be fine in a few weeks.

the attack the reynella boys had i though was pretty impressive and apart from a few short balls that may be been good on hard wicket that were instead despatched for 6, the bowling effort was solid.

Says a bit about pottsys dig. quality.

Straight from the horse's mouth, 15's and 17's start this Sunday (the 14th) and the 11's and 13's start Sunday week (the 21st). I presume the 9's will start then too.
