Just a question. Do umpires vote on the Hewett medal? and if so what happens in a game we may have to umpire ourselves?

Good question Sarge we have never not had an umpire so not sure what happens in regards to the hewett medal votes as the umpires do the votes for that.

I have played at WYC without an umpire years ago. Reckon one of our young blokes fired out Paul Durham LBW. Not something a youg guy wanted to do if he was to have a career at the Ramblers.

How long ago was that AF? The assocation spoke about it at the last meeting saying that they have had umpires for the best part of 10 years in section 1.

I would say 5-6 years ago, I could count on one hand the number of games we have had to umpire in the last 10 years in As, so I think that's a pretty good record for the association.

not entirely sure but this is in batting order or close too!

J.Whenan (Wyc)
S.Ford (Sheidow)
D.Quirk (North Haven)
S.Foster (Sheidow)
A.McCrae (Plympton)
S.Cheek (Coro)
B.Lowrey (Wyc)
C.Wright (Wyc) Batting Only
B.Middlin (Plympton)
J.McCormack (Sheidow)
S.Cooke (Sheidow)
K.Wild (Wyc) Bowling Only
13th Man. B.Christie (North Haven)

i think that is pretty close to the side maybe one or two exceptions! JB would be able to clarify it

New slab and permanent matting. Pretty impressed so far. Playing pretty well, better than what we heard of Coro's or Westminster's in their first seasons. Council paid for the lot which is very handy. Speaking of matting, if any club needs some we have a spare set going cheap....
