gday to all pdca fans out there, 1st post. great win for smithfield A's on saturday given circumstances. to field until tea with 10 men and to also loose a bowler the calibre of raed for the whole day with 2 players injured on the field. great effort lads! hopefully a couple of quality players back this week to face rose & crown, should be a good game. special mention to virginia for an excellant game that came down to the wire and for coming in for a drink after, great work boys. well done to the youth who stepped up to grade 1 (3x16,1x15). mick taylor was outstanding with 55 and 6 catches with the gloves.

heard a rumour saturday night that a former left arm quick of legend status at the club rolled his arm over and they came out allright. maybe he has a couple of grade 1 games still in him ;)

like the $1.80 for the Billy Goats

put me down for $50 to collect $90
so if they do the right thing my balance after Rd 2 should beabout $170

No probs, the 10/45 that AV took on day 2 shortened them dramatically. They also have decent batsmen.

Carmen will go close for the batting award this year, very very good batsman. Also the younger one is a quality bowler, those 2 are the barometers for them.

If it is going to be 2 full days, then OTH are bargains at that price. However, a one day game will be much different.

If I was a gambling man, I would have SW, rolled into R&C, and OTH (favourites), as well as a washout first day and Brown to lead runs and Sibbick wickets for the Lodge vs PG. Odds LM?

Did anyone else get told last game that you are now not aloud to bowl the ball into the grass while warming up to bowl? Ball tampering? WTF?

yeah was on the yellow sheet of paper we recieved before the game with the new rule changes.

The other rule change i disagree with is that if after you have bowled if you step in front of the umpire he will automatically call NO BALL, arent you already punished enough by the fact you wont get an LBW given, dont really think that deserves two punishments.

Soon it will be the batsmen are not aloud to run down the middle... I didnt hear of that second change but it is ordinary..

Yeah was on our sheet we recieved, the umpire we had said he wasnt fussed about that rule and that he wouldnt be calling it.

Infact the umpire we had Frank Brown did a very reasonable job, all his decision making was spot on.

While we are pumping up the umpires tyres, Merlin done a very reasonable job. All the stories you hear, only once pulled me up for naughty word.

Really if it is a deliberate ploy to soften the ball or make it darker so it is harder for the batters to see, I think we could just bring on Groover for a short, few overs spell.
