Murphy will be there the rest of this season and the next.
As for the game this week, with training tonight I hope our new bloke can get up...he did his knee in the T20 against WYC. He bowls a mean leggy that could b handy on the turf deck.

From what i hear Bazza was a bit unlucky

Bazza was very unlucky. He came on to bowl when big Dimma had his eye in and wanted a 50.
I was only doing what any captain would do for his troops. I could see Dimma was just about to explode and i didnt want my players to lose there confidence so i took the punishment 8)

And CK I would take it easy on me if I was you, Im your only friend left on here ;)

Pretty sure 'old scholars' just means you went to that school and a way for those blokes to still be affiliated ...? Usually pertains to colleges and the likes. There aint no Elizabeth or Hackham (no offense) old scholars. Correct me if I'm wrong... As for the Coro captain think he was a little sore on missing out last year

Roseboy wrote:To no-one in particular and definitely off-topic, but has anyone else questioned the use of "old scholars" from a definition point of view? It's always seemed a bit elitist to me. A "scholar", at least in my understanding, is someone who's well educated at a high level. I don't care which secondary school you've gone to, this doesn't qualify you as a scholar.

In other news, I'm considering creating a basketball team for "Blackwood High Getting-on-a-Bit Geniuses who are Still-Considered-Male-Models". Bit of a mouthful, but I'm sure it'll catch on ;)

I should state, we have 3 "old scholars" at the Ramblers which is what I'm basing this on! hehe, sorry Caleb777! Only kidding mate! ;)

then i was suprised to see him umpiring the sec4 or 5 grand final by the end of the year and he gave me old man out lbw and it hit him on the thigh pad.

but with all due respects the guy is a good bloke but he just cant umpire! it is honestly a joke that he continues to get games. weve had him 4 times in the games ive played and everytime he gets a scathing report! so what is the point of them if they dont even acknowledge them?

I heard about him having a stroke, and hopefully he can make a full recovery and his health can get back on track! Good luck to him with that!

He seemed a really nice bloke we had him JB, but i agree he cant umpire, however, this is why he will not get a sect 1 game again, and i dont think the association is in a position to knock back an umpire no matter how bad they are. Unfortunately thats the way it is with umpires at the moment!!

I know Affix8 still gave him a good report, thought he was alrite, just his communication skills are far too behind thats required as a cricket umpire from A8's point of view!

Better to have a neutral ump that is consistently bad then a biast umpire isnt it? i think so!

We had him in round 2 against Westminster and he was the worst umpire I've ever had, and we got the better end of it. I doubt we'll get him again any time soon, giving a 0 in an umpires report gets Tony's attention pretty quick!

I understand why you wont get him again. Giving an umpire a 0 score is just plain f****** stupid IMO.

Umpires in our league are not pro's, and they rely on captains feedback to learn and get better, which will make all us players happier. An umpire would improve far better getting constructive criticism then getting bagged and getting a score of 0.

If im correct, the umpires report has points for punctuality and how they dress, plus application of the rules of the game! And your telling us that he didnt deserve 1 point?

IMO no one will gain anything out of an umpire getting a 0, and really i think its bloody immature!! Fair enough you can bag an umpire and explain why you are doing so, but giving him a 0??? What a joke!!

That type of reaction was the reason we did it. Giving 20's and 30's (he would have got about 25 normally) have gone unnoticed in the past so this was making a point. I've had a decent chat with Tony about the game (so have the WOS boys) so there has been plenty of discussion since that wouldn't have happened with a normal report.

Was at WOS training early. Looking good. Offering 2/1 on WOS. 3/1 on Ramblers. That's beers, not $. To be bought at MPCC bar.

was a bit worried about the rain but the oval that ramblers will play wos on has very good drainage so if theres no rain before now and when the game starts the pitch will be glorious, if a little green, the courtney has always been a bit green.

That is a ******* joke. How do 2 players get into a fist fight and no further action is taken by either the association or the club involved.
Why did the independent umpire not file an incident report? There was also another Independent umpiring spectating the game. Surely the incident has to be reported even if specific players were not.
What would have happened if a player suffered injuries?
Why is it left up to Keswick who were not involved at all in the fight and sitting on the other side of the oval to report the incident??

Basically the Association & WestminsterOS think fighting on the cricket field is fine as long as you dont hit anyone from the opposition.

sheidow park will be throwing out their youngest and weakest team this game for 5 years but while being young and inexperienced they still have alot of talent and i hope they can get the job done with a "nothing to lose" attitude".

Why Doesn't WYC and ANA have an Umpire this week? But there are 2 in section 2 and 1 in section 4?

How will Hewett Medal voting go?

Tony Fromane said one of the new umpires would have this game. Can't remember who he said but it wasn't Gow.
