Ted wrote:Well batted auto. Reidy 51 are you kidding me? How many times did he get dropped today?
For me he is easily the most over rated bat in the division., sure he made 90 odd against NEK but also
Heard that he got dropped more than 10 times ( I know hard to believe right ) that day.

Not sure reidy is the most overated bat Sh*ted, I reckon cuzzins from Vi$ta is he reminds me of a ferret running up a drainpipe when batting.

When have i ever batted long enough to have this opinion?
Whoever rates me anyway obviosly knows nothing about cricket

O2, I think DKL's comment is rather complimentary of you anyway. You see, I've heard that ferrets race each other through pipes and that some of them are actually quite good at it. Ferrets are even bred especially for that purpose, to produce even more skillful racing ferrets. So, yeah, I'd take it all in your stride.

As for Ted, he only appears to be on this forum late at nights, perhaps full of dutch courage... So it leaves me with only one suggestion re: Ted... forum posters should ignore Ted because Ted's obviously getting a rise out of any reactions posted on here.

Maybe OB should serve light beers around the campfire after a game?

Rose Parks captain, has a chat to Fitzroy's captain and says how about we give you blokes a chance for a outright and declare when we get your runs and then you set Rose Park a target.
From what i was told, Fitzroy's captain agrees and then a old broken down bowler from yesteryear gets in his ear and tells him they still have a chance on beating Rose Park for first innings points. Fitzroy bring back on there opener bowlers and get smashed over the park and Rose park win easily and declare a couple of runs ahead.
Now if i was Fitzroy and needing to get a outright to get back in the finals hunt, i would come out and set a target.
Instead they loss 8 wickets and just bat they day out. I guess finishing 5 is more important than giving yourself every chance to make the finals.
Maybe there captain needs to stand up a bit more and not get over ruled by blokes re living there glory days.
Also heard that it could of been a lot different if there square leg had of giving Graham out run out when the stumps where thrown down but the square leg was too busy checking messages on his phone to care about watching the game.
Good luck Fitzroy, i hope you do make the finals some how. You had a chance yesterday to get a step close.

Show a bit more respect to Giggs mate, he has achieved more than most.

As for the declaration, i wanted to declare with 11 minutes left (remembering its a ten minute changeover) but Rooster wouldnt have it. Definetly thought if we bowled no-balls and got some run outs we could easily get the ten wickets in an over.

I was also there watching the game and i thought he was in, even hendo said he was in easily.

I spoke to him as well and he said he was the one who threw it, and it was out. Not quit sure you can put the bat down once you hear the stumps break and be in? Then again he thinks everything is out lol

As for "campfires" what a great idea!

Cmon Typy, after y'days game i drove past jailview and saw you blokes sitting around the campfire drinking full strength beers. I also spotted someone on an Iphone who was obviously posting on safooty and those around him were laughing...... undeniable proof imo.

With Fitzroy struggling in the A grade this year, surely the time has come to promote Matt Laird to open the batting up there?
Could get them off to an explosive start and can come on to pitch some handy off breaks during the innings.
With his unorthodox batting style he would shock some div 1 sides and could be the hero that creates some magic for the 'Roys!

So you admit Giggs got in the ear of young 'Harry' to not go for the outright?

The roys bowling is fairly average or did rose just bat to well? 4 wickets in a days cricket is not many.
for mine fitzroy will finish fith seaton six and finals will be rose v knights and vista v adelaide lutherans. no surprises there thats exactly what i tiped before the season started. i am truly a god among men. keep on truckin posters.

Dear bara-stick first of all i'm honored to make your top 5 on here it's been one of the highlights of my career so for this I thank you. As a very wise and knowledgeable poster on safooty can you answer me that if you’re 5th and 2 games out of the 4, would you not try EVERYTHING to get in the finals? cos once you're there, you never know what can happen.

No idea what was or wasnt said, i was laxing in the shade at that point. Will say Giggs is one of the most aggressive captains you will find.

Not sure why the big deal, we were instructed to play the game, get runs where possible and if we got enuff then we could declare. No major drama. My opinion-there wasnt much in it for us. If we left you 100 runs to win with ten overs to go you have a maybe 40/60 chance of getting them. For us trying to take ten wickets in ten overs would be a 1% chance or less. Not much if any hope for us. Again imo i think we were only chasing bonus points for runs made. You blokes on the other hand were hoping to jag a win and a home final. On the bright side Clarkey got a few poles for you guys and on another bright side i didnt have to field in a baking hot sun all day.
