With the 4 as close as it is, 6 points is more important than risking losing them for the outright

Any thought to a declaration last week with 10 to 15 overs left condsidering the position you're in ?

After watching ramblers do that last year to Morphys I doubtmorphys would declare on day 1 batting first.

Always take the runs on the board IMO unless come the last round and you need an outright

Ramblers did what to morphy parks? And wyc players are in no position to whine about having to bat for 12 overs after what you guys did to my team this year. Passed our score with plenty of time to bat and kept batting. It doesnt bother me that you kept batting, your decision and well within your rights to do that. But dont go and complain about batting for 12 overs. Percentage is important right now and getting a few extra wickets is helpful. Poor form all you wyc lads.
On another note congrats to the Ana lads. In horrific conditions you bowled super accurate and fielded really well. Stef basso would in my opinion be the most gentlemanly captain in the comp. Rowe for me still the best player also. Good luck to all the teams in the last round (yes even you wyc lads, and yes also Coro). Should be a close fought round and still anyone's flag. My tip still wyc with jake and kingy back soon

If South Road were smart, when they passed us 2 down, they should have stopped. that would have helped the quotient big time, in the end, after that point, we ended up gaining from playing on for the rest of the day. Wasnt a bad finish for us in the end.

And what you did to morphys was when you declared with overs remaining in the first day when you were 9 down, and the next week you ended up losing. Just saying, Morphys had seen that happen in favour of them so they were never going to declare and put them in the position to have it happen the other way around

The big question, will Keswick put up the motion for the 7+7 competition with them out of the top 8, and still every chance to come bottom??

I did think of that during the week!

If they were truly passionate about this utopia competition of theirs they would have to bring it up again regardless of where they sit on the ladder

Last round coming up and there are still 7 sides who can make the finals.

South Road will make it if they win. If they lose they must hope that Plympton don't win and Morphy's don't win as their % is better than South Road's. ICC is the other team who could possibly make up the % gap between themselves and South Road if Sth Road were to lose this weekend.

Cove make it if they beat South Road and will need to rely on Plympton and two of Coro, ICC and Moprhy Pk's not winning to keep a spot in the final 4.

Plymtpon will make it if they beat the ramblers this weekend and would need ICC, Morphy's and Coro all to lose to make it without winning this week.

Morphy's win and they will play finals cricket. Simple for them going into this week. Don't need to get an outright or anything spectacular just need to win.

ICC win and they are a chance to play finals cricket but the best chance of that happening for them is for Cove and Plympton to lose. They are a chane if Cove win to take South Road's spot in the 4. I dare say the Shark's will be bowling first this game and looking for outright points as that puts a different spin on it all.

Coro need to win and probably outright to be a chance to make it. They will rely on plenty of other results going their way if they are to make it with a first innings result this game.

I think this is the closest top 4 we have had for a quite a few seasons and i think thats good for the competition. I can't remember the last time 7 teams could all make the finals with a first innings result. Technically Ramblers and Belair could make it with outrights this week but i think they are really just mathematical chances at this stage.

Certainly will make for some good reading of the results this Saturday night.

This may sound a little silly, but I reckon the last round should be a Sat/Sun game.
With the top 4 so close, a 2 week game gives the weather a bigger chance of deciding teams just outside the 4 fates.
Dont go into melt down shooting me down, it is just a suggestion. ;)

Apparently Communications Minister Steven Conroy has just read your comment and has approved the installation of another 5 towers and sending rockets up for 2 new sattelites to cope with all the extra traffic that your comment should create on the WWW.

Early estimates say that your comment may have just created an extra 150 South Australian jobs, and pumped $2billion into the economy.

The Mayor of Woomera, excited by the news of these rockets has also just declared today a public holiday - forever to be known as Moe's Comment Day.

Great work Moe.

Would have thought if you couldn't defend 260-280 then you don't deserve to make the four... Showed little imagination IMO and while they should still make it anything thing could happen. Sitting in the four come the last round is a hell of a lot better than sitting 5th......

Anyway good luck !

But 5th is better than 8th where an outright is needed to make the four. I think Morphys backed themselves to win the last two games which means they'll make the four. Agree to disagree ;)

For me, Steven made the right choice to bat the day out, by only being 7 down and making the 360, and then rolling Coromandel for 110 has lifted our %, giving us better chance of making the 4, even if they did have a bowl the first week and took 2-3 wkts, to take 17-18 the following week in one day is a tough thing to do in section 1.

totally agree! bat the day for sure and give them the week to think about how tough it will be chasing a big score. declaring this year is a waste of time unless you pass the score needed, most sides know how to shut up shop for 20 overs or more. i reckon figjam has been out of the game too long...hahaha

Looks like there's some bright sparks coming through the ranks at Plympton

Agree there Jabber , looks like a sensational way to end the year.... think Coromandel if they get it together might be a smokey to grab a spot.
