Alex Blackewell is probably the most successful of that list in terms of an international career

Well she hasn't been a flash in the pan on the international scene.

Still not a good track record given that I have barely heard of some of the names in first class cricket circles...

Why would the Mullins' leave East Torrens? I would have thought Aaron had been given every chance but probably found his level. I don't know much about Mullins minor. Bit of a poisoned chalice the Bradman Scholarship, cricket wise. Not one winner has gone on with it.

MArtin Love?

Apologies Stumps. You are a better Googler than me. And Greg Mail.
For the record.
2011 Andrew Lowe
2010 Kate Shallard
2009 Aaron Mullins
2008 David Miller
2007 Patrick Connelly
2006 Madhu Bhamidipaty
2005 Shane Wallace
2004 Thomas Barrett
2003 Mark Faraday
2002 Alexandra Blackwell
2001 Kieran Mahony
2000 Greg Mail

Good to see one Adelaide school provide two winners of this national award within a three year period.

BDP2, showing a bit of nepotism, but agree, St Iggies is not a power cricket school and to produce 2 winners reflects well, probably not directly on the school, but perhaps the quality of the kids - Pattie heading towards a successful legal career.

Now to change the subject and I am surprised that SMAC has not put you straight on this, Russell Thompson will be coaching ND, in fact has one year left on his contract. No idea on the other clubs, but word is Ben Cameron has just signed a two year deal to coach the Bulls.

It may well have to do with the fact that Aaron is a quality spin bowler who was given extremely limited opportunities with the ball over the past two seasons. Admittedly, he did manage to break back into A Grade late in the season, but as a batsman. This may have changed his thinking.
Cheers

BDP2, word from the East torrens camp was that he got the golfer's version of the yips whilst bowling, lets hope for grade cricket that he gets the mojo back with his bowling, he achieved a fair bit at a young age, obviously with talent.

I'm not close to the club currently, but am hearing last year's A/B coach has left.

Just interested to know roughly how much do club pay their coaches and what requirements are they to fulfill? e.g. oversee/coach juniors.
We are looking are an experienced former/current player/s (with coaching) and or a former coach still looking at coaching. Our club has a rough $$$ figure but just want to see how it stacks upto district clubs.
Also when do clubs start pre-season????, now with the Adelaide Oval indoor nets demolished (i think) are clubs heading to Gillespie Sports for the indoor session.
If anyone out there is interested or knows anyone looking at not playing at district level then feel free to pm me pls.

IF what your saying on here is true about players moving to WT, than far out!!!!!
Does anyone know if Crosswaite is staying on at WT, did hear a whisper that he was considering playing in perth to try for the WA keeping position??????

Can't wait for the upcoming season.

Have not heard of any new players coming to West Torrens at this stage. Not sure how substantive the rumours above were. DC's position depends somewhat on his employment prospects. He could be heading west. As for Crossy, there is a strong chance he is staying.

No worries smac, found another source of information from the SACA's inner sanctum! From what I've been told some of the programming issues decided were:
- Monday 1st Oct West End Cup (1-day) games, to be played at 6 best available ovals
- Round 1 Sat/Sun for A & B 1 day game for C/D
- All senior grades playing on Sat of test match
- Sat/Sun on 5th/6th Jan
- Sat 26th Jan still to be confirmed as to which grades will play
- 20/20 Country Round will be optional as to where teams want to play, most clubs want to play in their zone

There are still some issues to be finalised at the July meeting along with the Bylaw recommendations.

Not rivetting stuff really, but it will annoy some about playing during the Test Match.
