It is the highest A grade score ever for MPCC or St.Marks as we were formerly known.
It breaks a 32 year old record.
If the lazy bastard hadn't retired due to the fact he could not walk, and made another 33, he would have broken our all time record.

Not an easy record to knock either. Fair chance it may be around for another 32 years or more.

It is a great effort to hit such a big score against a good bowling line up.

Hey lads

After donating almost $3,000 to charity just this season alone, South Road Cricket Club in conjunction with Edwardstown Footy Club are hosting a Twenty20 match next Thursday (1st March) in support of the World’s Greatest Shave. Port Power player Hamish Hartlett and Redbacks Player Cameron Borgas will be competing. It’d be great if everyone could get around it, more info here:

Speaking of T20's.

South Road and Sheidow Park will be competing in this year's ASCA T20 Cup at 1:45pm at Blackwood hill oval.

Be great to see a good crowd to watch the two teams who should put on a good show.

I would expect the ladder to look a little like this after this weekends play.

Team Points %
WYC 50 1.35
Sth Rd 42 1.2
Cove 40 1.08
Plympton 40 .95
Morphy Pk 37 1.12
ICC Sharks 37 1.09
Coro 37 1.01

If that worked out to be about right That says to me that South Road, Morphy Pk and ICC will all need to be keeping one eye on their quotient when making decisions about batting past totals or bowling in an second innings. If Cove are to win this week and next week they will finish second. South Road would then be relying on their quotient to stay above that of Morphy Pk's and ICC to keep a spot in the 4. Plympton will leave themselves controlling their own destiny unless an outright happens which is always a chance in round 11. So i dare say Morphy Pk's and ICC will be trying their best to get to bowl at their opposition twice this weekend for some crucial %. Coro especially will obviously be trying to win but it is important for them to not lose too heavily or a win in the final round might not be enough to close the % gap.

Good luck to everyone this weekend. Except South Road of course. :D

Looks somewhat complicated, I'm not sure that ours is an accurate reflection on performances either though.

You dont get performance points do you ? Its based on a ratio....which rarely sees games played out to full overs. Once the result is decided, both sides generally pack it in dont they ??

Points is 0 if you lose outright, 1 if you lose on first innings, 6 if you win first innings and no outright result, 11 if you win outright and 6 each if you win first innings but lose outright.

Our % is calculated by our wickets taken and lost as well as runs made and runs against.
What innings they are in makes no difference.

That is pretty accurate there WOZ. No performance points in ASCA and more games don't go the full distance than those that do.

I should add it doesn't bother me that much.

I do enjoy playing the overs out from time to time but i enjoy a cold beer more often.

Our system works ok, as I'm sure other systems work ok for other comps.

I personally enjoy the opportunity to be drinking a beer at 4:00pm on day two, regardless of which grade it is!
