Round 1 this week.

A fair bit of uncertainty about this comp.

Bundaleer rumoured to be struggling for players and may pull out before round 1.

Pekina also struggling for players due to the Bowmans selling up and moving to Adelaide, may pull the pin as well.

Spalding will have a side but a long list of retirements, city players not going on after the flag this year means Spalding will be a very young side. Would expect them to slip down the order a bit.

Top 4 almost certain to be Orrorro, Burra, Booleroo, Bel-Man. Orroroo to win the flag if the Dignan boys play all year but i reckon footy will prevent that.

Yeah had 8 teams but could be down to 6 for this year with both clubs finishing up no chance to return again.

There is the rocky river league that borders us with a 5 team comp so I would suggest we would merge at some point.

Story I was told, Rocky River wanted to join the Pirie comp last year and were told no....this year Pirie goes to Rocky River and naturally they get knocked back.

Yeah I would think Northern areas would have them at the drop of a hat

Redhill and Spalding get along real well given we play together for football so there is two votes if clubs had to vote on it

Spalding got the win in round1

Not playing myself but had the pleasure of watching an Australian u/19 cricketer wear our colours today. Can see the difference in ability when you can make it at that level.

Not sure his playing cricket this year……was their grade cricket on this week??!

I believe he may have quit the game and just wanting to have some fun. Not sure though…Angus Judd is the lad, I got it wrong as well, was an Australian u/16.

You can always count on the two Kelly boys from Sturt playing a couple of games a year up here as well with Burra as their captain is from Sturt.

Judd played a lot of a grade for Sturt he’ll be a handful on the hard wickets in that comp
Do any grounds have turf?

Nah all hard wicket

He took 4/9 and a billion plays and miss.

There are some gun bats up here but no depth whatsoever.

Bundaleer with a resurgence this year on the back of ex Australian u/19 and SA second 11 cricketer Patrick Page playing for them.

Hit 115 not out for them to defeat Bel Man

Was at Henley Oval Mon and Tues for YP v Barossa and YP v Fleurieu. Unfortunately didn't get to see the Northern team. Any Booleroo players in it?
YP looked a bit thin on personnel to be honest.

Joel Durnford was part of the Northern Areas squad from Booleroo. Not sure he played a game however.

The good news for Booleroo is they seem to be easily getting a side every week, albeit not an overly talented bunch but at the end of the day that doesnt matter.

YP was basically James Moss.

Did anyone see the footage of the dropped catch by the keeper off of Mossy only to be caught by the fine leg?

Yeah that catch was insane. Cant say i've seen that in cricket before.

Funnily enough in the final the BSR football club had two players in the game one for Northern Areas Alex Morgan and the other for Barossa Tom Harslett.

First ball Alex bowled to Tom, cleaned bowled letting the ball go. You reckon that is going to be brought up at footy season a few times this year.
