Also my mail says Enfield will be picking up the services of Shannon Uern, brother of Travis.

If both play a full season and throw into the mix Gully, Canil, Reynolds and Wardle i would say Enfield will be quite potent this season..

Really good call Typy. We do have one or two coming from the roys, when they get their acts together, but we do need a spread of club representations.

As for BB he's prob busy trying to work out if blue-green algae really is blue-green . Magpies is on 47 different boards and committees so is busy. The Enfield boys are prob still spewing at me for not walking on an LBW appeal. Oh yeah.... Carey's out chasing men apparently ;)

Ba boom tish, reggie.. ;)

Okay, just posting this to start getting the word out to the Clubs that we will be attempting to field an U21's side in this year's SAMCA comp, which is allegedly going to be a knockout format rather than a round robin set up.

The distinct lack of interest from players in C&CCA in this age bracket has been glaring, and as such, the Coaches & Exec have decided not to pursue an U21's side the last few years, likening the efforts to generate a decent response akin to banging one's head against a brick wall. In essence, the effort of a handful of people did not seem worth it for a predicted poor response. There have been criticisms within C&CCA and indeed SAMCA about our lack of participation at the junior level in representative cricket, so therefore we have decided to throw it out there and see what the response is.

After discussion with The Prez, Club delegates will be asked to take this back to their Clubs to garner as much interest as possible for U21 representation, starting with the AGM shortly, and the topic to be an ongoing agenda item at all delegate meetings thereafter.

We will announce ONE training night once the season starts where the U21 player response will dictate whether we do or don't field an U21's side in SAMCA this year. This way, there shall be NO recourse whatsoever from the couch-bound snipers who sit back & criticise, IF the player response is inadequate. ;) If the response is positive, we will schedule more trainings in preparation for the first round and we will participate in the 2010/11 SAMCA format.

Given some of the performances of some of our U21 players within all grades of C&CCA last year, I'd expect that the Michael Spry's, Tyson Roling's, Jeremy Borgas's & Pete Graham's of our comp will put their hands up, where leadership opportunities will be there for those who want it - provided enough interest is shown, of course.

So the ball will be in the court of the Clubs and their U21 players. And if any U21's are reading this and are keen to throw their hat into the ring, spread the word amongst your junior team mates through whatever social networks you move in. The vehicle to participate at rep level is there if you want it. It's up to you guys. ;)

Stay tuned for more communication on this as the season gets closer. 8)

It felt close thats for sure but i wasnt gonna walk, and calling me a cheat for not walking was pretty harsh i thought. All in good fun tho and it was enjoyable playing against you mob last year, exactly what you play cricket for. If only Andy hadnt ran so bloody quick in the rain to take that catch i rekon we coulda got home from there. Anyways good luck for the coming year

Good work Goatie, "build it and they will come"....hopefully. Im pretty sure Pidge and Tyso from our club will make themselves available, and if they dont ill smack em around a bit. Also we may have another one or two or three even if only for training.

Definitely putting my hand up for this one Mr Herder. An under 21 side has been spoken about over the past couple of seasons, but has never happened. I'd like to see it happen this year. From Fitzroy, i'm pretty sure we'll have 2 or 3 interested... possibly more.

As for Tyson, he's probably still getting his head straight after my brother had him in all sorts at training earlier in the week.
