Best part was it came after misunderstanding my comment I thought I'd made it clear I couldn't see whether it was in or out but the reaction was the sort if reaction teams give when something's not out. Teams that are hard done by react very differently to that. As for making a mistake, I know other united players with good views who thought it was not out.
And I think the Salisbury west boys thought we were playing glorified backyard cricket. Since when was one hand one bounce a rule in the para districts? Steve Sewell dismissed after being given out on a blatant bump ball. Appealing for that sort of stuff isn't right... I caught a SW player at drinks who fielded at gully who said it was a bump ball.
There were mixed views on that one. Some were sure it was clean, others thought it bounced first. But teammates often have different views on whether catches are clean or not, hey oz?
Final wash up, I know the bowler and catcher were sure and so was the umpire. I know Sewelly doesn't usually hang around like that so knew he was sure it wasn't out. There have been stories like that since W.G. Grace took up the game. If a bloke knows something's not out and appeals, then that's something they have to live with. I don't like to play that way personally but you'll never stop people who do.
