Hopkins 4 fa, wright 1 fa, Kingy 1 fa, fairnington 1 fa, Allen 2 and m whenan 1 fa.

Sambo, tucky and winning probably top three run scorers.

Our bowlers bowled extremely well, very tight and restrictive. Fielding was pretty good as well. Good day for our bowlers

Shiedow Park made 9 for 169 from 75 overs at Capella Drive versus Coromandel today. Bruce took 4 for 35 odd, Koirala 3 for 40 odd and suprisingly Lourens didnt take a wicket

Coro in strife.

Ramblers nearly already won outright against Westminster. Westminster rolled for 80 odd, ramblers got it none down and I believe Westminster are 5 fa already in the second dig

Wickets in both digs? Not taking anything away from Ramblers, but Westminster would be 95% chance of folding wouldn't they? Fielded A grade sides 5 times with 10 players, the B grade are in strife number wise. Sad because the are a good bunch of blokes that have too much to too little

Watching some good catches helped ;)

Nah it was definitely a long day in the field but was worth it with the way we bowled. After having them 7/110 they probably got around 20 more than we like but Tucky nudged the ones pretty well while Winning got bloody lucky for his 21

Talk of slow batting, morphys scored 77 in 52 and a bit overs
And with where Glenelg ANA are on the ladder, with 20 overs to bat I'm suprised they didn't try and get the runs in those overs, not be on 35 after 20 overs

Credit should go to the Rambler slip cordon yesterday, who grabbed every nick that went their way, which was quite substantial. I think AF took about 6 catches yesterday, makes the bowlers feel very confident every time a nick happens were in the money

Andrew Wright decided to become the centre of attention during the start of our innings overnight. He held up play no less than 5 times in the 8 overs we had to face overnight, at one stage was told to "F**k off" directly by a bowler after being called for a no ball (which he deliberately ignored). He gave no warnings at all during this. With 2 balls to go he called the opposition captain over and talked to him for a good couple of minutes and i believed he was given a warning for his teams behaviour at that point. Cove were probably going over the top with the sledging, but Andrews lack of intervention and constant hold ups were far more distraction to the batsman than any of the banter. If you are going to hold up play, do something about it or let it go in my opinion. Disgraceful umpiring that only penalised the batting side.

ANA bowled pretty well and constantly loosing wickets doesn't help the cause. Them loosing S Rowe first ball probably stopped their chase a bit as well, we were surprised they didn't have a crack. But the biggest cause was the oval, looked like it hadn't been cut for a month.

Rumours I have heard indicate Noarlunga are keen to go to GSCA and if they go Port Noarlunga will try and go to ASCA and would be competitive in Section 1 as they are on a par with Cove in past years.

If these things happen I could see Kangarilla going to Hills as they play footy in Hills Comp.
Flagstaff Hill would have to look at Hills or ASCA as I couldn't see GSCA clubs wanting to travel to play at Flagstaff Hill.
Seaford haven't won a game in A Grade and Morphett Vale have only done slightly better so at best would be Section 2 or 3.
Hamilton (C Grade only) would look at ASCA going on there location.
Ahmaydia (C Grade only) not sure where they are based as they don't have a home ground but apparently have played Hills before they came to SCA.

Port Noarlunga have 3 sides and will play finals in all 3 Grades and are a pretty good club to play against.

Doesn't sound like Andrew Wright!

He umpired a 20/20 game last year or the year before with me representing plympton umpiring also. He was right from the first ball being the centre of attention and the players from both sides just wanted to get on with the game. His constant hold ups, especially in the second innings where "crowd participation" got a few from the WYC side a bit riled, were unnecessary and simply added fuel to the fire. His handing out of a 5 run penalty in the game was rediculous.

In footy, when it looks like players are going to get heated most GOOD umpires will get the play moving asap so the players stop worrying about arguing/fighting and get on with the game eg at a stoppage they will bounce/throw the ball up asap. Holding the game up does not help and it is the same with cricket IMO. 2-3 minute delays to talk to someone just gets the rest of the players more fired up.

I'm sure everyone has an Andrew Wright story. Going back a while ago to when both the Thomas boys were playing for us in a game against Warradale Andrew took 5 runs off us for Michael swearing at himself after bowling a no-ball (no one had heard of the 5 run penalty at that stage) which set the tone for the day. Things got more and more heated as the game went on until the last over, we need 6 to win. 1,6 game over, crowd goes wild (played at Brighton High so could have been worse if all our "fans" were there) and some one yells "take 5 runs off for that you *******". Andrew immedately stops, takes 5 more runs off and the game continues. In all the commotion I don't remember exact details of what happend in the last 4 balls but we fell short. On tribunal Andrew tries to blame the final incident on Michael who was 5 KM away, back at the club setting up for his birthday that night. Game ends up being declared a draw and funnily enough we haven't had an issue with Andrew since. Pretty sure that's also the reason for the penalty runs section in the scorebook now.

Biggest shame of it all was a young kid of ours was robbed of hitting a six to win in about his 5th Section 1 game, I'm still pissed off about that!

What a disgraceful decision by the umpire he sounds like the biggest goose. Once the game is officially finished or stumps have been called, what ever that is said on the field whether it's between team-mates or to an umpire can't change the results of the game and I’m surprised it was declared a draw. I wouldn’t be very happy if that happened to me.

Depending on results, the ladder could be very very interesting come the beginning of next round.

Rambelrs nearly guaranteed outright. If ICC beat WYC. Cove beat Keswick. Glenelg or morphys. Coro beat Sheidows.

Ladder looks like:

ICC 55
Ramblers 50
WYC 45
Cove 44
Coro 40
Glenelg/morphys 40
Keswick 35

If results were opposite. Ramblers still outright. WYC def ICC, Keswick beat Cove. Glenelg or morphies win. Coro win

WYC 50
Ramblers 50
ICC 50
Keswick 40
Coro 40
GLenelg/Morphys 40
Cove 39

Coves game is massive in the context of all sides this season.

RD 11
WYC v Cove
Keswick v Ramblers
Morphys v Sheidow
SOuth Road v ICC
Westminster v Glenelg
Coro v Plympton

If Glenelg beat Morphys, (which they should) i reckon they will make the 4. They should beat Westminster outright (unless they bat first and bat all day).
