all i do care about though is this years development of sheidows young team and if they dont win then the teams that deserve to win i hope do.

appart from the now i will always have the future in my mind because of the burning ambition myself and macca have to come back and dominate the competition... but that wont be a while

Im glad i count for something JB :D

We've had a lot of talk around about these players that will end up with us and on paper you'd drool at a "suppossed" side but honestly when does it ever turn out like that.

From my expeirence of district sport it takes time to get into the circle and the 3 southern boys could defiantly find themselves regulars in the A grade but that would take time and be silly not to have a decent crack (Being more then a few years). From what i saw Sunday Dogs is still to much talent for our A grade and hopefully he gives West Torrens another crack if not he is a great person to have around the club. Then the other few names that say they might time will tell.

ATM tho we are getting more then enough out of our young Blokes like Tys Brown, Taj Pedersen, Jake Johnson, Ben Lane Daniel Magin in the B's and our senior blokes are all around the 21-22 year mark and were certainly not holding onto a hope that we will get these players back but working with what we already have. (they may not get a spot if they come back anyways :))

Now thats funny. Specialist might be overdoing it.
Lets see dropped Hoppy on 4 made 75 off M.Thomas, dropped spook off M.Thomas and cost him association trophy both as subfielder. Now these are only 2 examples of my Phil Tuffnell like reflexes.

The sarge wrote:I would say that our attack last year was probably the best in the comp but ICC. We had jib take 22 wickets Harvs take around 18, Cookie take around 15 and myself and Fossy around 15. We never relied on one bowler every week. Now we have lost Jib (our best bowler) ,Harvs and myself but have Gained keith Clements and Ben Cameron. I faced every attack but North Haven and WYC (who I did watch bowl against us) last year and found none but ICC better than ours.

That is pretty good from your mob sarge with the variety and thats still why i rate our bowling attack from last year and this year...We were in a similar positon to your mob with the wickets, with Hoppy taking 27, Macca taking 23, Karl taking 21, M.King taking 16, Bloods taking 14, Russell King 9 (bowled in 7games) and Chrissy Allen 8 (4games)... Now i find that a pretty non-reliant bowling line up last year! We are hoping we can get somewhere close this year!

Im extremely suprised Cookie only took 15 tho, surely he deserved 20 atleast. In the 21s i thought he was bowling f****** well and at the time as good as anyone in the comp!

However i still think the best bowling line up last year was ICC aswell. With Sambo, Tonkes opening followed by Ledgard and the most underrated bowler of them all, Colacciovo (the lefty). Thats a cracking bowling line up and is the major reason why they are not in the same position last year as they dont have that depth in bowling!!

This year without facing them i would say Glenelgs bowling line up as the best, so good that if its true Goodrich has been dropped, it shows there depth. He is third in the association in the bowling attack!!

I must say, I'm pretty looking forward to tonight's Twenty/20 against Coromandel tonight. Underlights, orange ball, hopefully a bit of a crowd due to the long-time rivalry... And personally - my first gig in this format.

If anyone's interested - game starts @ 6pm at Blackwood Footy Club. A BBQ is being put on + the bar's open. Hopefully both teams will put on a bit of a hitting display.

Just glad we have a 1-day game on Saturday with the way we trained last night - weren't too many balls being left in preparation for tonight... ;)

i have no doubt morphy parks could beat glenelg ana if they played there best eleven cricketers instead of picking blokes on how much they have trained and if they have payed there subs. However with the side they are putting on the park at the minute very unlikely

We too have a policy around players playing that haven't payed their subs. You might not get the best side out on the park but you guarantee the sustainability of your club if people are made to pay subs.

You know AB that subs are the life blood of our CC. We do not get $1 taken over our bar, so i think now that we have 60 players to fill 44 spots instead of ringing up every week because we are short players who are financial should be picked first. No player is bigger than the club- except tommy! Who would you have in our A's instead? What are subs at other clubs? ours are $135 employed $100 unemployed or $15 per game.

Pitt's body still up to it after years of neglect?

Ramblers subs are $180 if paid by round 2 or $200 after. $20 per game in lower grades. discounts for students/unemployed. I'm thinking your subs are pretty cheap. We are strong financially and blokes have never complained about level of subs.

Sometimes you just need a treasurer with "balls" and all subs are collected.

I know you care mate. S.Pitt not interested, has done his bit & wants to play with his cousin, Kingy has returned to bay for pre-season and therefore finished, Hirsh would be the first one to tell you he has only just got his interest back plus he is not able to train due to work and cannot find the edge of the bat let alone the middle. Macka will get his chance i feel, well liked and a good competitor

Unfortunately our treasurer is female, although she does wear the pants in her family.
Yes our subs are low & i have rammed that point home to our guys more than once. We are sound financially as well, and with a hard working social committee this year i reckon we will be in the GOOD financial catergory

As to pittys body, well now he is married, new spring in his step. Played B's last game and opened the bowling with Miller, the old combo had North Haven ( I think) 3/13 should have been 4/13 off 5 overs. Those boys have still got it don't worry!

Yeah, that is cheap. Do you do "ball money" as well per game or anything? Do you guys supply team gear (bats, pads etc)?

Out of interest - how come you guys don't get a portion of the bar takings? Seems a bit unfair...

No RB no extra money. We hope that being cheaper blokes will pay up. Has been good payment this year too. We hold only 2 official functions per year and expect all to attend. Having said that our Casino night was a hit last saturday, although 2 non games did not help numbers. As for bar takings, we do not expect any revenue as we are a sporting club with 4 different clubs. I would like seeing more money spent on club infrastrutre as the intrior is looking tired but I understand that footy is our main income. Having said that, and i may get in trouble with the footy pres, but the Cricket club boyz did put in excess of 80k over the bar last season. Yes we do like a beer!
before i go to training, on top of last week forfeiting the 20/20 against us, South Road also forfeited the div 7 game against us as well. Can understand not getting a 4th side some weeks but our offer to give them a week to get a side together and play for premiership points must surely rank as good sportsmanship. Maybe that offer should now be recinded!
How does it go ..... Moe out.

Ramblers over Coro in the 20/20 tonight. Some tight bowling and woeful batting by both teams made for a tight encounter. Coro 102 v Ramblers 8/104 in last over. Must say that Blackwood footy club pitch is not designed for playing at dusk, probably the toughest batting conditions I've ever experienced with the sun setting behind the pitch. Orange ball was sensational tho.

Yes, Morphy's treasurer is a female, but if she goes to a player and say's pay me some fee money, they pay.
She's even got money from players this year that haven't paid in previous years ( Heavupasingledigit )
As for the pants, are you wearing yours Moe ????
