Hill??? who is hill? and how is Goedecke getting a game?[/quote]

 MM if you had your time again i reckon you would pick 2 different blokes....Hill's spell of bowling was not only match winning but changed the game completely..one minute they were cruising along and then the next they were 6 down and struggling to stay in the game all because of Hilly's 4 wickets in 3-4 overs and as for young Dylan his knock of 30 odd was vital at that stage of the innings and the partnership with Smith is what got us to the total of 183 so he showed he is more than capable of performing in another level of cricket!!!

A great win by our lads and well deserved...a great way to finish of the last round of the SAMCA Cup and finish on a positive note!!!!!..compared to the last 2-3 yrs the Churches Assocaition Team has come a long way in terms of improvment :D

And on Dylan, he was exciting last year. He hit 600 odd runs playing division 4. this year he has played 4 div 1 games and hit 31 runs... Is that form?

Good luck to the boys today, sorry if offended anyone but I feel the side selected isnt as strong as it can be but that just my opinion. :P

It would only be if your opinion counted that I would be offended. For starters, you’d think after the amount of time you’ve played cricket, you’d be at a level tad better than your average backyard D grader, and it goes without saying that you have no idea what it takes to play at this level. It takes commitment and passion, and anyone lacking in one or both of those categories, is going to find it hard to fit into the C&CCA representative environment - we don't tolerate passengers. And until you actually know something about the selection process, I suggest you keep your inaccurate assumptions to yourself. And as facts go, perhaps i'td be a good idea to get yours straight. I most certainly don’t dislike the player you speak of, I question his commitment and passion, which is FAR different, and quite frankly he hasn’t proven otherwise. Trainings are open to EVERYONE. Check the website. Check the minutes from the Assoc meetings. Check the information your Club’s exec receive. Put up or shut up. Simple.

As for the inferior unit that was unfairly assembled to represent OUR Association today, well they must’ve over-achieved significantly to bat first and post 181 all out from almost 39 overs – Jon Smith compiling a classy 43, combining with the anonymous and out of form Dylan Goedecke (36) in his debut representative match to put on 67 for the 4th wicket, with cameos from Giglio (20-odd), Wright (17) and Hill (11). Baldo and Gully opened up with the cherry in-hand in the ASCA innings, where that imposter Goedecke pouched a sharp catch off the last ball of Gully’s 1st over. Baldo rattled the pegs shortly after and then Lee “Who The Hell Is He?” Hill replaced Gully and soon had 3/0 off 3 overs – yes, how ‘Miraculous, hey?!?.. The FIVE time C&CCA Carnival representative finished with 4/25 from 8 straight overs - despite not being rated by some particular keyboard cricketing Bradmans with no freakin’ idea.. Domanski chimed in with 3/27, with Giglio taking the last wicket, with Eddie “Mr Imparja” Graham-Vanderbyl pouching his 2nd sharp slips chance to dismiss ASCA for 116. A great result for this bottom-of-the-barrel pool of talentless misfits..

I look forward to you taking up lawn bowls or at least some other sport you might have some faint idea about in the near future Mr Miraculous.. NFI.

Im not going to doubt his capabilites onion, nor am i gonna question whether he should be in the assoc side.. HOWEVER..

If he was serious about playing at that level then surely he would make a greater effort to put his name forward i.e train or ring someone, not go through you on a forum! Why should the assoc chase him around to play if they have 20 blokes keen to play already who are willing to make the effort to train or make a simple phone call?

As far as im concerned i wouldnt take anything written on a forum from someone else as gospel, rather hear it from the horses mouth you know what i mean? "I know a bloke who knows a bloke who wants a game and is the greatest ever, all you need to do is find him and ring him and beg him and offer him fellatio" ..come on too much effort required :P :P ;)

20 blokes keen to play yet only six turn up to training? Thats commitment and passion and dont pass off this garbage that all absent were 'all' busy

Fitzroy A's batted and made about 120.. PV are about 0/4 in reply

Fitzroy B's bowled Seaton out for 160 and are 2/28 with the ever reliable Auto on 19*

Fitzroy C's bowled Pawawowie out for 552  and they only batted 57 overs.

was any of those games helds next to the aquatic centre Pidge? i swear i saw some Fitzies t shirts on a couple of the guys over there...

Just in case anyone cares  we kept the Rockets to 174 on a f**king quick ground, and then I Martin (37) and T Hodson (62) opened and had put on 77 when Ian got out in the 11th over... some of these turf boys dont understand you cant keep bowling short to hard wicket players

was good to see the PV boys are getting back into a bit of form before their return next season 8)

Bored- yes, it was next to the Aquatic Centre

Paralowie?
let's just say their antics were more football orientated than cricket, & the sobriety of at least 1 player was questionable.
As for them dropping players down a level- one kid who was dropped from the side to make way for a player from above was puking.
Also, there seemed to separate camps within there team- not very unified (or dignified) for a side who posted 500+

We won't get within 300 of that.
But if the above is true, it was all in vain for them- Ecky would have to clarify that.

yes it was- 'kept for 5 hours, surprised my back hasn't seized up.
3 stumpings eased the pain though...

Nah mate, just sick of idiots criticising when they've got NFI. ;) Not to mention talking crap about not rating blokes they've never played against (and never will because they're not good enough), and when those they don't rate have more cricketing talent in their left spud than those making the ill-informed and embarassing 'calls'.

sounds like a good win to the boys there Herder! I might have a bit of a hard time getting back in the team!

I cant believe that Lee is even thought of as not good enough to rep the association team... I have a lot of time for Hilly on and off the ground, he always puts in more than his fair share for the Methos with both the bat and ball and I have no doubt he would do exactly the same at association level.

I think the progress we've made over the last 3-4yrs is significant, as evidenced by us beating PDCA by 9 wickets last year and now ASCA comfortably today. ATCA has also praised us for our talent pool and competitiveness coming on in leaps and bounds. We are no longer the laughing stock of the CUSA/SAMCA Cups and it's full credit to those players who dedicate their time to playing at this level, and no thanks to clowns who sit back, do nothing but feel they have the right to criticise a process they know nothing about. It's a joke.

Fair call GH.. there will always be back seat drivers who criticise the decisions made in any situation. At the end of the day they are the people who don't have a right to criticise because they don't put their hand up and contribute.

We should be proud of the progress the assoc. team has made over the last few years! I know that all those that take part, in all teams, wouldn't be there if they didn't have a hunger to win!
