To ring up and forfiet this morn is a joke! we played them last year and really struggled to get 11 but we did with a side of mostly D graders but we rolled up!
With 4 sides not getting 11 guys is weak its simple as that!!
A big day was planned today with past players etc and unlike them we actually do get people back at our club so very ordinary south road..

Pathetic. For me, South Rd should be banned from entering next year and fined as a result of this. They would have known for some time they were struggling for numbers.

Obviously some big issues at that club.

So how does it work now for next week? Does it become 75 overs + your already used 20.2, so 96 combined = 48 overs a side? And you've used 20 of them?

If so, I'm pretty happy we didn't get underway yesterday. Makes it pretty awkward.

We bowled 18.3 overs at Sharks till it started to rain they ended up 0/59 but because we didnt get through 20 we have a one dayer next week.

T20 today against sharks ended in a tie Sharks hit 172 we bowled pretty poorly i thought and were 0 for 100 after 9 overs till we lost 3 for 7 in 4 overs last over we needed 11 to win ended with a quick leg bye off the last bowl. Dave Morrison for us belted a quick 69 off 9 overs hit it clean and Joshy Bennett hit 53 opening up with him.

At this stage we play again next week but with us having a few blokes at stereosonics and our quiz night this Saturday and apparently they have Sambos buck show this week may come down to a toss of the coin in a week and a half.

which again calls the question for me... Why dont we seed teams? 2nd best and 4th best team last year scores 172 a piece and yet clapham or internationals are gonna go through ahead of sharks or sheidow... Shit cricket

I agree they should be fined for doing that. They were extremely hard to nail down for a game against us last year. It is a joke and as Dundee said they had organised to have past players etc at the club and to be let down is poor form.

No way should it be a toss of a coin. Morphy Pks through to the next round.

WYC restricted WOS to 8 or 9 fa 122 off their 20 overs. M King was the pick of the bowlers with 2/17 off his 4.

We passed the score in the 14th over with 6 wickets in hand.

CK made a good 44 and Luders made about 30-35.

I was of the understanding that as soon as a ball is bowled on day one it is a game and you split the overs that being the 75 next week and the 18.3 bowled, which would count as 19 being 94 overs so it should be a 47 over game per side. I will stand corrected but that was my understanding of our rules. Who was your umpire TL?

Shoulda had a super over or something to that extent TL to sort it out at the ground IMO.
Must of been a great day of cricket though with 340 runs scored in 40 overs.

As i said before JB, just because Sheidow finished 4th last year in the 2 day comp means they deserve to be seeded 4th for a t20 comp. you didnt make it pass the first round last year IIRC.
For example, ANA didnt get pass the first round of the t20 this year yet are looking like they will go close to the minor premiership!

Agreed, we were told that in a 2 day game as soon as a ball is bowled the game stands. In a one day match, on the other hand, 20 overs must be bowled for it to constitute a game. That makes things slightly difficult for us at Keswick however 0/48 is a good base to start swinging the bat for the next 28 overs. Given our T20 form today (Mackay 69, R. Curyer 33) passing Warradale's 121 in the 12th over, we should be able to set a defendable target next week.

I believe that bloods and BR are correct in saying that once a ball is bowled it counts towards next week!!

Good win by the Keswick boys today then, rather easy by the looks! Who got wickets for Keswick??

So teams left in the t20 IIRC are:

Western Youth
North Haven
Plympton
Keswick
ICC/Sheidow Park
Ramblers/Coro
Morphy Parks
Clapham

You disagree about the super over or the seeding of the sides JB?

how else would you see about seeding sides because it needs to be done...

im not arguing about this subject because i wasted 4 hours of my life today umpiring a game which in the end doesnt mean a pinch of salt because they will end up flipping a coin anyway...

i want those 4 hours back

why did the game take so long. Perhaps one team took more than the allowable 80 minutes for their overs and should have been penalised meaning the game wasn't a waste of time just poorly umpired  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

if it took that long, whatever side hadnt started there last over by 80 minutes should be penalised 6 runs per over that hadnt been bowled. therefore a winner could have been found!

we bowled our 20 overs in 67 minutes today!

hahahahahaha, had nothing to do with the game but the players that were playing in it

but my t20 had scheduling, proper umpires, one day uniforms and good cricketers

t20 cricket is shit cricket, but asca t20 is backyard cricket at the moment
