I think Cove have a golf day on the 13th. They will have to decide what is more important to them.

Smith :(
Thomas. M
Rusty
Hopkins
McKay
Sampson
Rowe
McCormack
Lourens
May
Kinnear B.

No idea how Kinnear bats So iv put him number 11.

May has bowled really really well lately and he destroyed us, and his average is superb.

Openers of kinnear and Lourens with other bowlers to be May, Rowe, Sampson, Hopkins and Smith

M Thomas
D Thomas
M Smith
R Hopkins
D Sampson
R Curyer
M Verrall
C Mattner Keeper
D Rowe
S Foster
B Kinnear

J Lourens to bowl and not bat

That is the side i would pick.

Smith, Hopkins and Verrall to bowl the overs that Kinnear, Sampson, Lourens, Foster, Rowe and M Thomas don't.

He has kept at B Grade distict level i believe so he should be pretty good. Scoring runs in section 2 and i can't say i can find a keeper who has done the same in section 1.

Ramblers 6/29 chasing 113.

I honestly think the pitch at Hawthorndene is not suitable to play on. It just does too much. Coro's seems to have got better but it doesn't appear that the Ramblers pitch is doing that.

Thoughts?

Plympton's is overdue for re-laying and in hindsight probably tried to squeeze 1 season too many out of it, but that stuff that is layed out at rambers belongs in the produce section of the supermarket under a few rockmelons!

I said that when i played on it just after it first got laid, the fibres are too long.

Speaking with a couple of guys at the t20 last sunday i don't think some of the ramblers players enjoy it, but really there is not much you can do about it until its ready to be ripped up and relayed. The argument will be its the same for both teams.

Yeah it is the same for both sides but it doesn't make for a fair challenge between bat and ball IMO.

from what I know of those types of matting, its ment to play more like a turf pitch. They only laid the pitch down not long ago at Hawthorndene, so the stuff is still quite soft and yes the bounce maybe abit different to that of a normal matting, but batsmen should get use to it after a couple of overs. and it aint that hard for bowlers all you need to do is keep it reasonable full and you'll be right, if you pitch it short, then it sits up.

Also its will be the same for both teams, so it doesn't really make a difference. I say stop complaining, Cricket should be a challenge to play!
