Last weekend they were spot on too, everyone was worried there would be heavy rain on Friday and saturday yet the forecast maps said bugger all and that's exactly what happened, bugger all!
At least this time they won't call it off so early, they only jump the gun like that when it's the first week of a two day game.
Jumped the gun! You're kidding aren't you. Most places had 15-20mm from Thursday night to Friday night and ther was no way we could have got a pitch up. I thought ATCA made the right call and timing was perfect.
Nah, not kidding.
Adelaide had 0.2mm of rain on Thursday when most of the pitch preperation was done.
Yeah, Friday was a bit wet with 10.2mm but Saturday was sunny and windy, perfect conditions for drying out. We would have played at our ground.
You must have been the exception to the rule. I saw some pretty reasonable showers come through Saturday which on top of 10-15mm would have made it impossible to play. ATCA and SACA both call off all turf games Saturday - that includes A Grade where ethey have covers. Couldn't even get Salisbury oval up for Ray Sutton on Sunday, so the kids played hard wicket.

There was absolutely no chance of games getting up last weekend, ATCA should have made the call at 9am. The way the rain came down about 7ish it was always going to be doubtful of playing.
Or if ATCA hadnt made the call and you got a game up, how many people would be on here complaining about low slow wet wickets with soft/unsafe footmarks... If anyone played the result would have been a given just after the toss was completed and the winner sent the opposition in to bat..
If you want to play after its rained for a day and a night, go play hardwicket cricket
