We won where it counted...but it was a hollow victory when you have to score at the wrong place.

I'll give you a score off!

I had one dumb chick try and tell me a beamer full toss that was hit for 6 and signaled no-ball meant 6 no-balls, it happened twice in the one over, I tried telling her what it's meant to be but she told me how long she'd been scoring for so obviously she was right.

I ended up saying "you do it your way and I'll do it mine".

I had an Eastern Park lady refuse to sit with me under the shelter at Smithfield, she sat 50 metres away to score, that was a fun day.

I will slightly pull you up on the EP one if it’s the one I think I’m the mid 2000’s

That was Jontys misses the year earlier she had an entire beer poured on her by a Smithfield spectator who I won’t name because of a minor incident.

Association just needs to pull the big stick out. We have until 8pm sunday night. $20 fine if not correct etc. If not fixed by the next Sunday its double and it keeps doubling until its fixed. We have a lot of clubs with more money than sense

I agree.

I've become our side's designated scorer, at least until I have to pad up. There are a few sides with 'full-time' scorers, most have an adequate handle on the rules. The rest of the teams just designate a player who doesn't like to umpire, and for the most part, they're willing to follow the more experienced scorer's lead.

Some folks just don't like being told what's what sometimes...

I think they have until Sunday to confirm the results but they have until Thursday to enter the rest of the data, well that's how it used to be.

They do get decent fines but some clubs don't seem to care, North Pines used to rock up to the meetings with their cheque book open and signed, just required an amount from the exec.

My club got fined $45 once for something. We put 5 and 10 cent pieces in a huge jar and handed it over.

When I worked in a servo I often have people come in and buy $20+ worth of stuff and pay with silver

Didn't bother me as long as I wasn't too busy - gave me something to do for a few minutes lol.

My team manager when I was coaching kids footy went to give the umpire notes one day and I grabbed them from her hand and said to the umpire to come back in 5 minutes, I then asked her to use the smallest change we had, she went to give him the money then I accidentally bumped her right at the critical moment.

@The Bedge

Hey mate, I'll be away from Thursday for a week, can you please update the board later in the week if ATCO, Smithfield and the Gardens haven't entered their shit by Wednesday?

You can do this coming round too if you want.

Bit of a cliffhanger at Smithfield Oval, a 6 off the 2nd last ball to win, Moran smashing 55 not out, apparently Jamie Lane played for Smithfield and went bang too!

Very high scoring match.. feel a bit for Smithfield, just can't quite get the results they probably deserve.

NEK would be pretty filthy, would think they were probably on track for a win with Atkins & Prettlejohn still at the crease, and Leonard certainly hits a big ball - 72 in 21 overs would've been comfortable.

Eyre Royals have made a meal of their match, i'm sure they would've gone in thinking it was a match for the taking, but cricket is a crap game.

Enfield are rubbish.. no Channa really hurt and the wind blowing caused serious concerns - blokes were struggling to run into it.. 15 runs from the first over, 38 from the 1st 3 overs at that end, Units were 0/39 off 5 overs haha.. in the end bowled 15 overs of spin from that end which really hurt our structure - meant I bowled out before drinks. Worst we have bowled and fielded all season - started with dropping Deeble 2nd over... then 2/1 in the opening over batting was not a good start - recovered and were cruising until Rackebrandt put one down the throat of Davey Ritzema on the boundary.. definitely one that got away.

Must say, Johnny Ritzema bowled particularly well though, and the little Afghan lad who opened the batting was solid - crunched some cracking sweep shots off me, did well to get them up to a defendable total.

This is no word of a lie, I was chatting with a couple of blokes at jets training a few weeks ago and I mentioned this lad, I asked if he was tall and one of the blokes I was talking to said "yes, very, I've heard he's Carl's brother"

:D

Well he could be related to Carl Rackemann - but given they have different names and come from different states, and about 30yrs difference in age.. it's probably unlikely

He is tall though - 200cm - i'm still trying to convince him to stand at full forward for me this year, but he'd rather go watch Norwood :(

It's good opening with him and Channa - they both come off 6 steps, so we get through our overs quick lol.
