yes they have names and don't expect me to post them on here because it won't happen.

As i understand it certain past players are happy to chip in towards the cost of paying players, which is fair enough i just don't agree people at our level, which isn't very high, should be getting paid.

Is anyone able to recomend a pink or white ball for day/night 20/20 cricket? In my experience the white ball gets scuffed and turns a touch brown which makes it tough to see for both batsmen and fielders. Anyone reckon the pink ball is the way to go?

We have used both and a white and orange ball, pink seems to be the best though.

No one has been paid by Keswick since Darren Marsh (he was paid to coach). Some club members have personally sponsored players in the past from their own pocket (usually subsidised subs and Heath got some performance bonuses one year AFAIK). This year Rusty had some equipment subsidised, he donated his bat to the club and we chipped in for a replacement. He has never been paid cash.
Heath is at Keswick this year because he loves the club and the people.
Keswick rarely lose players simply because we are awesome and once you play with us, you appreciate it.
We are in the worst location for recruiting, we do not have our own clubrooms, we do not have nice ovals and yet we remain one of the strongest clubs in the competition and have been for some time.

We have never ever used money (successfully) to lure players to our club aside from Darren Marsh, period.

dont worry guys wyc already have a firm grip on the 09/10 flag, really is no point in turning up

its funny because except for bloods 4 for on the weekend and the start ck got a few weeks ago the 2 blokes that have been talking up wyc to win the flag have been mere passengers in their title defence so far.

as i said before... you guys love to put alot of pressure on the 1 or 2 blokes carrying you this year and without harvey you'll find it even harder to bowl sides out...

Far from it JB. The team that would be favourite if i was the bookie would be the bays. They are going along very well and have the best bowling attack bar none by a very long way. Their batting is their weaker point but it isn't weak. As long as they have 100 on the board they will feel confident their bowlers can do the job for them. I would then have Keswick and WYC on the second line of betting.

I am confident those three sides will make the finals and i think the 4th spot is wide open and waiting for someone to grab it. Coro Ramblers and Plympton would be my favourites to get it but i don't think either of those are a monty to get it.

Last time i checked, and the way our club plays, cricket is played by 11 blokes not one or two "carrying" a side.

every team has 1 batsman to get out and 1 bowler to keep out and then the drop in standard fades very quickly in asca... thats what sets keswick and glenelg aside for me is that keswick have 2 gun batsman and glenelg have 2 gun bowlers.

Fair enough.

I think we have a star in Robbie and Pressy but no one else is in that class. We have a few who are bordering on that but otherwise we have a very even side.

The gap between every teams 4th best player and 9th best player is what the difference is between the better sides and the poor sides IMHO.

I think it is fair to say there are 2 players in all sides that are not of a section 1 standard.
