The guys that miss out need to earn their spot where as in the past in was a given, good for all in my opinion and only makes for healthy competition for spots and a strong club.

BL looking the good with 5 imports from last year and you guys were getting up R&C for getting 3.
Bet there would be a few players from last year not happy playing G1
.

flying under the radar the old brahma boys.. not only for the premiership but also for recruiting half a comp.. there would def be a few with there noses out of joint, if its not the grade 1 players last year it would be the B grade blokes that now have to play C grade and the C grade blokes who have to play D grade.. you can get away with 3 imports but 5 or 6??

The thing about Brahma is we have a core of players who are now in their mid thirties who are still good enough to hold their own and do well enough in the higher grades (2 and 3) but will not win the club another grade 1 premiership - and thats what its all about. I can honestly say their is no issue at all about the new players, they are very welcome and along with the new pitch represent the committee trying to push the club to a higher level of professionalism and performance, And with five grades you can find your comfortable level or still push to play up - the new guys can start on reputation but will retain their spot on performance, thats how we work it at the Lodge.

BL must know how to look after players with a few big sponsors on board I’m sure there's a few incentives going around.
Maybe not for the old players but I’m sure the new guys will have their hands out.

I know first hand how confident you can be with 6 imports, confidence turns into pressure because everyone is now out to beat you.. but the real pressure begins in march, there will be no credit given to just making finals "again".. Brahma will be expected to take it out now after a massive influx of players.

Club must be doing well to have that many senior teams... and for them all to be happy. How is the push for Juniors going Browny? in2cricket and Kanga getting good numbers?
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Another rash comment from the great one...not having a clue how other clubs operate. Some of our best very happy to play C grade, knowing the club is on the right path

Oz, very good 180 there. Classic deflection from what we all know, that SW will be very hard to beat, again.

I think the odds should be something like:
SW $1.60
R&C $2.10
OTH $4
BL $6
Virginia $10
Angle Vale $12
Smithfield $15
PG $16

You are right, Reeves will be only available part time. Whether he adapts to Hard wicket will the the key, but same with the other guys who came from ATCA.

I think you are being abit nieve to think everyone would be happy, but you are right I have no idea how your club works, but remember I do talk to people who do talk to you, so dont think for a min I dont know everything.......

Good luck to all today, may the bowlers bowl fast and may the batsmen put the ball back over their heads :)

Last minute ladder prediction:
Brahma
Sals West
Rose and Crown
One Tree Hill
Virginia
PGCC
Smithfield
Angle Vale

Top four pretty even hard to differentiate between, as is the same for the bottom four GO THE GARDENS
