Yer for sure, think that record safe at morphies. Apparently not including when he played at Keswick as a youngster either.
Not sure what comp record is?? Has Anyone got close to the 1000?

Gus Hunter from Coro has over 900 wickets. When my dad was a youngster he can remember watching Gus play for Coro seniors - then he was still playing against me when I made my debut in the Ds years ago. Amazing effort.

Our record is with Geoff 'Gyprock' Jenner at somewhere just over 530 wickets.

I'd be interested to see who has the most Section 1 wickets. Wayne Jones took about 400 Sect 1 wickets for us before the wife stepped in by his early 30s. Justin Strange has over 300 in under 10 seasons for us.

Our leading wicket taker as CK stated has 621 in 330 games all bar 1 of those wickets are a grade wickets.

Anyone above 500 wickets is obviously a superb bowler and has showed their longevity. I will be happy to end up with 100 wickets in my lifetime.

Todd Roberts has 298 club wickets. I think all bar 5 are A grade wickets.
Hoppy has 270 odd IIRC. Im sure by the time he finishes up his sect 1 career he will have 400-500 at least.

How many would tonkesy have now you reckon? he has been around for a fair while and had 35+ wickets a fair few times, aswell as O'Malley??

As our club is not as old, im sure someone like Keswick would have someone with a shitloads of wickets!

Anderson. K 809

But i believe he has a whole lot more before records were kept and when Keswick were playing as CYMS. I remember watching him bowl at 60+ and had an action as smooth as Robbie Hopkins.

I have 63!

Interesting to see the leading runs scorer (339) in comp is playing D grade?? He also has taken 14 wickets... Quick look at the ladders suggests sides in the clubs higher grades struggling as well. Could be another wanting to play with my Dad situation! ;)

I know that the bloke you are talking about is wanting to play with his Dad. Just with his mates in that grade!

Dont understand why the club in question doesnt promote all three of the players as one of his good mates is leading the wickets in that comp! But some clubs allow this to happen so good luck to them

the leading wicket taker is infact the captain of the side

so when a player in question comes to your club and says he only wants to play with his mates to get his love for the game back before he takes things half seriously in sec1. you turn your back on the player and not have him play at all?

atleast he is playing and enjoying himself, now hes half a chance of playing a grade down the track... if not good luck to him

Thats Fair enough, no dramas at all. Would have thought two 100s and a bag full of wickets would quickly get " your love for the game back" though.. Not sure who suggested turning your back on him??? Hope for your clubs sake he does decided to play A grade he obviously can play.
Some clubs do things differntly thats all, being captain does not mean your not playing higher if required at our club.
But look forward to playing him just hope he has a bad couple of weeks :D

yeah i brought this up a few pages back about him and said once he gets tired of dominating every week he will hopefully want to challenge himself, and by challenge himself i would rather see him go back to west torrens or another grade club because he was knocking on the door of a grade when he left last season.
