For me:

Coromandel- will bounce back after underperforming last week
WYC- think we have the batters on deck to hit the runs
South road- 226 is in reach but I think morphies might just fall short
Keswick- surely something good happens with the batting line up and of it does then 168 not enough
Ramblers-think they will just get home
Glenelg-199 to be enough I think

I think every team will get three points this week.

well still get on at the dene, hahaha

Yeah good luck with that.

Hopefully the rain stays away until 3:30-4pm. That will give us a shot at chasing it down in 35-40 overs :D ;) .

Completely forgot about Harrow and woody. Don't think woody would make it for mine even though he has played A grade district after leaving us, but Harrow would considering he took a fair few wickets for us.
Wright dropped for harrow. Sorry Callum ;)

M.Wegner - Leading run scorer so far. Deserves a go. Agreed.
D.Thomas - Going pretty well again this year and did alright last year in the side i think. Agreed
R.Curyer (C) Hasn't had a great year with the bat as yet but performs well and has done a fair bit for the association side so deserves his spot and would be the skipper again i would think. Agreed
J.Koirala - I don't think Jai would make it yet. He would make it on the back of his batting and i don't think he has enough runs on the board for this yet. I would have Michael Thomas or Kev Brokensha ahead of Jai at the moment. Disagree i would have Michael Thomas.
R.Hopkins - should only be picked to bat. Agreed
R.Oakey - Is certainly hitting it very nicely at the moment. Deserves a shot. Agreed
G.Bruce - Probably fighting for the same spot as Simon Krieg for me. I would think with that side it is the bowling that would be needed more than the batting so i would take Simon Krieg based on his numbers this year with the ball. Disagree i would pick Simon Krieg.
B.McCormick (WK) - The most dangerous with the bat but not the most reliable. Naismith would have to be a chance. Depending on whether you wanted a quick scoring batsmen or one to hang around. Agreed based on his ability to score quickly.
R.McCard - Didn't see him bowl against us but he seems to do both well and has plenty of turf experience so should make the side. Agreed
M.Verrall - Seems to be in good form with both bat and ball. Agreed
C.Wright - In good form with the new ball. Deserves a shot in the side. Agreed
J.Lourens - Keeps on taking wickets so deserves his spot. Agreed

My comments next to your original team Skittled. Not too many i disagree with and i don't think your side would go too badly either. Criticise away people.

Nah mate don't worry about the modesty if you deserve to be in then you should be in.

As the skipper of our 50th year side said when being presented to the crowd.

"Thanks it's an honour to be picked as captain of the side. Not a shock though because if i wasn't captain i wasn't coming".

The rules for ASCA selection:

1) basically if you perform against western youth you get picked.
2) statistics or form mean nothing right?
3) if you play for western youth that may help
4) are mates with any of the western youth boys.
5) at some stage in your 10 year career you have had your name in mondays advertiser.
6) I've run out of things to say.

Oh... Wait.. did I mention playing for western youth will help?

Surprised Rusty would be in the side with 70 runs @ 17 if it was picked on form. Good previous record but on current form Wegener from Belair, Deiner and good old Gowser would surely be ahead...
Would have Krutli keeping as well.
Hopkins premiership captain would surely be the skipper if fit and wanting to play.

For the record...

Diener - runs talk, hard hitting.
Mcgowran - good occupier
Press - still showing people how to smash bad balls
Hopkins (c) - leads well, usually performs
Wegener - a bloke who I've always rated. values his wicket, making runs
Oakey - if anybody in the comp is hitting them better correct me.
Verrall - runs & wickets. Deserves his place
Cooke - the smokie. Been injured but has been bowling and hitting them well
Krieg - taking poles. Don't know a lot about him.
Wright - bowling very well at the moment.
Lourens - not at his best this year but still taking wickets. Easily the best bowler going around. (I know you'll read this Ralph so enjoy it)

12th D. Thomas
13th Bruce Carpenter - yeah he's playing section 6 but he'll value his wicket.
Plenty of form, plenty of all rounders.

Where did the fun police go?

Coromandel 5/103 chasing down 190 today. Called off at drinks. Darker than batmans suit towards the end. ICC Bowled very tight in tough conditions to bat in.

The Moose wrote:I would like to say if Belair bowl line and length they'll win but we all know WYC find a way to put the ball over mid wicket wherever possible. Pack the leg side boundary and bowl 6 different balls an over Belair boys and the rangers won't know what to do ;)
If this happens, Belair will win by 50 runs. Mangin to destroy them!!

On a more serious side (not that above wasn't serious) a huge congratulations to our club president Matt Longhurst on a breath taking 188 not out in our 2nd X1 on Saturday. From all reports is was something special! Well deserved from a club man who's huge efforts off field the last 12 months has got the Coromandel Cricket Club back on track to becoming the next powerhouse of ASCA!!

I hear I wasn't too far off the mark ;)
