Laughing Stock is a bit harsh. Extremely inconsistent yes.

PFCC is rebuilding with youth, there is no question of that, apart from D Giersch (who was originally set to pasture in section 2) the oldest member of that side is 25. the boys are inconsistent and if you look at the matches i don't think they have been smashed out of the park at any stage this year.

The batting has been inconsistent and that has created meager totals to defend with the ball, when the team has bowled first the have generally held thier own quite well.

PFCC has done what some other clubs (and funny they are all from around the same area geographically, which has been an ageing area for some time now, but just starting to be reborn with younger families etc moving into the area) failed to do, and that was go to youth BEFORE they hit rock bottom. You have a look at the clubs in the south-west; Morphies - got relegated a few years ago but to thier credit are back firing, Mitchell Park - struggling to stay afloat in section 2/3?, Warradale - going no-where for a few years now in section two, South Road - Struggling in section 1.

Your comment about off-field ego's is rubbish. rubdy-dub-dub!

FIGJAM11 wrote:While all the focus from now till the end of the season is on the top four when you look at the bottom end it looks a very sad story (for some) for a once great proud club. There is a real possiblity that at the end of this rounds matches PFCC could be bottom and in a fight for relegation.

A great club that year after year always competed for finals and every other club hated to play against has now become a laughing stock who everyone wants to play. Maybe harsh but true. Off field egos have shot this club in the foot !

Let's just hope Westminister are very very average cause i never thought i'd see the day PFCC competing in section 2 .

 haha!!! no beers mate, would have liked one though... considering i stopped playing asca last season and played 16 years in the league at various levels, might no a little... however no need to tear up, its just my opinion.... in that time i faced 3 bowlers who could bowl a really good bouncer and could do it consistantly, they were a bloke from heswick in section 1, short guy from icc who used to bowl a squllion think his name is mckay (can't remember) and one of the twins who played at morphies.... alot of good bowlers who play section 1 and thoughout the grades, just not many who can bowl a consistant bouncer and a dangerous one at that... as i said before its just my opinion, which i know sometimes is bad to have on here...

Ended the day 9/139 thanks to a 42 run last wicket stand.

I thought Danny Miller and Florance bowled really well early and we helped by running our skipper out for 0  .

Some clean and clever hitting from our numbers 10 and 11 have given us a sniff and something to bowl at next week. Hopefully they haven't finished yet either as we will have 14 overs to face next week.

Thanks to Morphies who put on the afternoon tea at 6:00 and a few jugs of beer for Danny Millers 200th.

Should be interesting to see if we can bowl well next week and make a game of it.
