my tip is firmly on TUFF PITCH being planted on buttons top lip! no way he can see the ball coming thru those little buttons! not sure if he can wear the wellingtons and rain coat... gonna be fairly warm saturday!! might b a naked paddles runnin around!
Deep Heat wrote:hahaha macgilivarry makes seaford look like adelaide oval i also heard theres a few bets on this weeks clash between cove and norlunga with a certain batsmen from the shoes very confident he cam make a score against the cobras the same bloke who was very confident in taking a catch so much so he thought he would commentate the ball all the way into his hands un fortunately he then managed to drop it atleast 5 times in one effort ( BUTTONS ) AKA ( TUFF PITCH )

Hope everybody had a great Australia Day ?

Seeing that the topic of Seafords ground is being banded around again people should have a look at the other ovals in the association !
Porties as no shade near the ground unless you want to spread out betwen three coaches boxes.
Shoeland has had the worst run ups in the comp for a good few years now
Flaggies oval is just plain shocking went from being a sand trap and looking like carpet and is now worse than ever and even has a running track around the boundry not good if your sweeping on the fence.
Morphett vale is always just a sand pit
Cove you end up having a gale blowing you over.

we have been waiting 3 months to get the permit so government red tape is why ground is dead not srcc lack of caring and what would all the other grounds look like if the council didnt look after them i bet cove shoes and porties would be just as bad if they hadnt been watered for 2 years

Dillgaf have you got the local member onto the state of oval and is someone within the club who has some free time really working hard on this subject?? also have you looked at all avenues or just sitting back waiting for someone else to do something??

By the way what is this idiot paul70 on about??? :((
and Kangies are on a roll because I dont count the farce at the postage stamp :))

of course we have tried to do something about it there are no other grounds we can play at a couple of us cored and top dressed the oval at the start of the year the school are meant to maintain the oval but the groundsman there is an utter loser he has no idea at all and as for you not counting kangies effort well the points are in the bank so your oponion is utterly useless[/quote]

Say that to Niel's face, the look will be priceless...

You are bringing a knife to a gun fight there...

I hear ya BAZZA, but on this occasion it's not the case.
The shelter problem is an issue at Porties and one the cricket club has been wanting to fix for a number of years.
As with all projects at the club, cricket and football go halves and each time it is brought up, the football club don't see it as important and something they don't want to really spend their money on.

The cricket club has always had funding to build a shelter, I actually got planning approval for a shelter between the timekeepers box and the 2nd dugout south of that.
20 metres long and 3 metres deep, it would've more than adequately fixed the problem, but as mentioned above, the footy club don't see it as important enough to spend their money on.
Not my opinion, just feedback I got from a PNFC committee member at the time.

I can see the point that the football club doesn't need it because everyone sits in their car when watching football...

But they are still c*nts for not helping the cricket club out...
