And yet no one else besides wyc seems to be able to post a "par" score of 350+

Probably the most sensible thing written in the last page or so seeing as most people wanted them to come up ...... Its horses for courses and each clubs ground is different from the other but out of all this i haven't read anyone give Belair credit to have not been bowled out in the 75 overs and register a very respectable score against an undefeated side.

Having a go at the ground ? howabout acknowledging the opposition .... Maybe there's a bit of ICC in you afterall ;)

Our ground has the best surface in the comp - some could argue Westminster but I think our surface is better!

Yes it does have the best surface, definitely!
Regardless of wether or not the bowlers bowl rubbish and deserve to be hit for six.
Five to ten minutes searching for the ball takes a bit from the game dont you think?
Just made the comment because I was in the mood for some shit stirring..haha

Had a good afternoon at the Under 21's game yesterday.
Some friendly banter between the Morphy Park & Keswick boys who were out supporting in good numbers.
Spook's boys nearly pulled off a miracle, with the opposition having a brain fade late and nearly choking.
The are some talented young men in our Association, so I had the bar people at Morphies put the Jagermeister away in case WYC Bloods & Cover King turned up ;)

I would like to say if Belair bowl line and length they'll win but we all know WYC find a way to put the ball over mid wicket wherever possible. Pack the leg side boundary and bowl 6 different balls an over Belair boys and the rangers won't know what to do ;)
If this happens, Belair will win by 50 runs. Mangin to destroy them!!

On a more serious side (not that above wasn't serious) a huge congratulations to our club president Matt Longhurst on a breath taking 188 not out in our 2nd X1 on Saturday. From all reports is was something special! Well deserved from a club man who's huge efforts off field the last 12 months has got the Coromandel Cricket Club back on track to becoming the next powerhouse of ASCA!!

My apologies ..... was kind of a low blow ;) . Despite the ground this game does look well placed for a great days cricket ! Maybe an ex Plympton spinner might cause some trouble with extra turn from one of these turds lying around.

Any thoughts on Glenelg ANA ? lose this week and it could just about be curtains for section 1 although currently 4 of the top 5 in section 2 are B grade sides which may offer a lifeline. Watching them against Morphy's their team spirit in the field was terrific but they seam to have an aging side with a very very pedestrian attack apart from Rowe.

Who will come away with the points this week

For me:

Coromandel- will bounce back after underperforming last week
WYC- think we have the batters on deck to hit the runs
South road- 226 is in reach but I think morphies might just fall short
Keswick- surely something good happens with the batting line up and of it does then 168 not enough
Ramblers-think they will just get home
Glenelg-199 to be enough I think

PFCC

1. Simon Naismith - wk
2. Dion Hibberd
3. Scott Peek
4. Chris Hawes
5. Brett Habib
6. Paul Mitsigeorgis
7. Mick Helbig
8. Darren Marsh
9. Andrew Brigmanis
10. Geoff Stanley
11. Kerry Saunders

12. Daniel Giersch - Might be a slapper now but did win us a GF way back when, and people seem to get out to him for some reason!

Dion only played about 3 seasons for us but was very successful for those years so he's in.
There were other blokes that I saw play - and played with - in the lower grades as a kid who did dominate section one before my time but i didn't actually see those dominant years so didn't put those in eg Garth Newman, Vaughan Newman, Ron 'Slime' Myall, Nick Mitsigeorgis etc

pretty good side... my side would be very similar except i'd take out stans and put in Adam Wilson and take out Mick Helbig for daniel giersch plus put in Brett Pianta as 12th man... Also if you can have a 13th man i'd have Anthony Dittmar...

Some of the WYC lads will not have seen a couple of these blokes play, I was lucky enough to in my early days at the club and could think of another 5 or 6 who could easily come in.

S.Knowles
R.Press
D.McNamara
B.Harris
B.Luke
R.Donaldson ( All-rounder )
T.Roberts ( All-rounder )
R.Hopkins ( All-rounder )
B.McCormack ( WK )
T.May ( All-rounder )
S.Byrne ( Fast )

Not knowing any of the other clubs playing history as I do, this is a big call, but I would back this side against any team any club could muster up in Premier hard-wicket cricket.

Unlucky :

D.Smith
F.DelBorello
P.Delyannis
D.Lloyd

Lucky :

McCormack ;)
