Correct mate, got the news last night about them forfeiting again.

If you can’t get 11 players for a home game in round 2 you should be forced to pull the team.

Plympton III also forfeit so danger it will change things in both S8/9

The association needs to step in and tell clubs like Flaggy if this keeps happening you withdraw the team and then next season don't enter that 2nd side

Do Sutton Derby players have experience in this comp or are they just randoms who have overrated their ability?

By “everyone”, I think you mean the Executive? Your blind freddy average punter could see they were going to be a joke.

They are still yet to post their full scores from the weekend, not have they done either of their captains reports. Absolutely useless.

Give them a break , there are plenty of other clubs who have not having done a captains report or entered scores yet.

Odds are they will cause at least one upset during the year. Wouldn't want to be the club its against!!

Additionally, hopefully we can all learn as an association from this years events and not allow the requesting to drop sections/refusing to play in a higher sections.

Their numbers aren’t up because their book was supposedly an absolute joke. The talk is they were basically not keeping track of batsmen’s scores and were putting all overs bowled against a singular bowler.

By the end of the game, they only had 4 players in attendance.

This week could be very ugly, both on and off the field for this club.

At least their having a crack. This should be back on the association and WYC.

WYC have been at or around the top for year's and take the easy option first time it looks tough. Take your medicine, recruited from struggling clubs within the same Section before now they're out of there when it suits them.

Very well said.
WYC have certainly pulled the wool over the executives eyes.

Tell me a club that didn't lose some players this season.
Losing players is not a reason to drop down a section, let alone 2.

Sections 1-3 should all be A grade teams.
Sections 4-5, possibly 6 all B grade teams.
7,8,9 should be for C grade down.

I can't speak for the WYC executive but I'd imagine the thoughts were around being in Div 1 and the B grade in Div 5. Makes it very hard in the longer term to remain competitive in Div 1 when the feeder team is in Div 5 and with the loss of some key players the drop off in Section 1 may have impacted negatively on the comp, as Sutton Derby are now.

I double down if what V0ice0fthev0iceless is saying is correct.

Simple cricket basics. Useless.

That is correct.
For the last 5 or so overs, Sutton Derby had 2 batting, one square leg and one scoring.
After 8 overs both books were not filled out together. 32 over disparity and what was filled out was very very messy.
The Captain wanted to go straight after the game back to the restaurant but was told to sort the book out somewhat.

Yes they aren't the only team not to have filled out a Captains report or entered scores but it isn't a great start from them.

Coming home on the H30 bus, saw a few blokes practicing on the pitches behind Adelaide High

I'd be worried if I were Coromandel

Has Billabong flooded with all the rain we’ve had this week?
