Ramblers are the only certainties. Ana, WYC, Cove, Sheidow and Coro are the 5 sides in the lead for other 3 spots but there are certainly a few others that are a chance.

nice to hear some positive stuff about the ramblers from wyc lads. thought u didnt like us very much! haha ;)

He only said you were certainties to make the finals, I would hardly take that as positive stuff ;)

One of the 3 guys you talk about has 15 wickets so far this season.

Knocking off ANA and ICC in the last 2 games shows we can mix it with the best if we apply ourselves. Our biggest issue is finding that consistency game in game out. You dont need a team of champions, you just need a team that is out there to work for each other and work towards a goal. We are a young team still learning. From a team that played in a semi 2 years ago we have lost Ford, McCormack, McCormack and Cooke. We have also been without Harvey, Clements and Pedersen for most or all of the season so far. Replacing all of these guys isnt going to happen overnight and we are pushing younger guys up for them to learn. This isnt an excuse, it is just a fact on where we are as a club at the moment. It is just good to see that we are being competitive with some of the best teams in the competition, showing our faith in the young guys is paying off. I wouldnt say we are no chance at all, we are still a chance no matter how unlikely you may think it is.

Geez not even I knew anything about that. How long ago was that? How much time do you actually have on your hands? Funny when you've got Bulldogga on the other side talking about how defensive people get

I've just made the comment that he might help the fortunes of the shiedow park section one side, if you want to read anything more into that then thats entirely up to you...

Agreed. I didn't read him saying we were nice blokes.

From memory we are only half a win ahead of where we were this time last year and we didn't play finals last season. Don't think anything is certain, but still happy with the start.

I've just made the comment that he might help the fortunes of the shiedow park section one side, if you want to read anything more into that then thats entirely up to you...[/quote]

if its the person i think you are talking about then he has only played 2 games for the club so far, and was helping a mate out when doing so. It is something we will be looking at in the new year since it only came to light to us in the last week.

PFCC must wish you did your research for their own benefit though :D

My research consisted of the following:

1) playing section 6 last game
2) seeing a bloke with a cap that has para hills cricket club plastered all over it
3) noticing that his skills were that of a player not quite playing in a section that befitted his skill level.

I came to the following conclusion:

He was too good for section six and should be playing higher.

Maybe i should work as a detective?

That was the worst hundred ever but yet still a 100 playing on a postage stamp and top edging a six off good bowling isn't skill

Glad you an make those comments without knowing what's going on in a club! Considering he has played 2 games for the club, we didn't know where he had come from and were under the opinion he was only filling in to help a mate out it's a great conclusion to come to! Now we know where he has come from we will be discussing in the New Year as we have changed things from last year for the most part.

I'm not angry mate, i don't lie in bed at night thinking about it!

I'm also not going to go around hi-fiving him for making a ton against plympton!

How do you feel when someone makes a hundred against your club?

So with us getting spanked by the poms, if u were the only selector for the next test who would you pick?

For me it would look like this;

Watson S
Marsh S
Ponting
Hussey
Khawaja
Smith
Haddin
Hauritz
Johnson
Siddle
O Keefe
Hilfenhaus (12th Man)

Thoughts?

Katich
Watson
Khawaja
Clarke
Hussey
Smith
Haddin
Hauritz
Johnson
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

12th - Beer

If Katich is fit there is no reason he shouldn't be played, Khawaja has to get the call up now replacing Ponting and Clarke should stay in the side. Punter will retire after the test or the world cup. As much as I don't think Smith has the capabilities to be a test player they will keep him in the side because he is young. Hauritz WILL be selected for the Sydney test. And as useless as Johnson is along with the other quicks they will all get a game. Maybe Hilfy out for bolly/cameron?
