Rumour has McCard at Morphy Parks. If he's serious he'll have a big impact at that level.

Well not looking good for round 1 lads :(

Hopefully if there is no play we get the call before we strap the water bag on and head down south

Been doing at rain dance FS, not keen to travel along or south of Anzac Highway, does the sea breeze affect your batting!

SACA should never program a game on SANFL Grand Final Day - a washout would be karma! ;)

The SANFL shouldn't let the season run into the 2nd weekend of October...... ;)

Agreed, blame the AFL for that one! Admittedly, though, our Grand Final should be before theirs.

Have heard a strong rumour that the Buffalos have selected an experienced older player to lead them on the field for 2011/12 should be announced this Friday at their Season Launch.

Won't all be available for Round One, but a strong West Torrens lineup for this season, including the following:

Ferguson
George
Blizzard
Crosthwaite
James Smith
Kelly
Cullen
Haslett

Obviously there will be plenty of opportunities for younger players to force their way in when half of the above are away on State duty.
Cheers

Happy times at WT. All of the above bar Blizzard available this weekend. Doesn't happen too often....hopefully a big weekend for the lads.

Ferg playing and Jimmy Smith playing both days. Mind you with Doropoulos, Bailey and Plant the Bays will certainly be no walk over! Should be a great game....if the rain stays away!

Shark Hunter,
At team selection it was announced that James would only play on the Sunday. Radar is playing on the Saturday.

Well, apologies, Shark Hunter, you were correct.
James did play and boy, did he play! A great 76 not out to see us 1/105 at stumps chasing Glenelg's 155.
Also took the wicket of Doropoulos after 'Drop' had compiled an excellent 81.

Is it true that Chad Sayers arrived home from India Saturday Morning and went straight to the game and played? Good effort if this is so! 8)

How typical SMAC, never let the truth get in the way of propaganda coming from you. You know as well as everyone that the grade clubs get requested for their thoughts. From that Cate and the program committee get 13 different requests, so they then have the difficult job of sorting through what clubs want and get some sort of program which tries to please everyone. In my opinion they have done a very good job the last couple of years, continuing the good work Shane used to do before promotion.

I highly doubt that all 13 clubs would have requested a Sat/Sun first up for ALL grades.

Good move though putting the 2's back to 90 overs and the 1's 96.
