Yep, this is often a problem.

It makes me wonder if the association should consider shortening the seasons of A5, A4, A3, A2 by 1 week so that their grand finals are played a week earlier, meaning the final week of the season has just the two games - A1 and A1R grand finals.
You would however need some tight rules on lower grade qualifications to prevent sides dropping A1 players to lower grade semis.

As their is no clash of sides in these grades (and never should be), it would allow the final week of the season to be standalone and allow for other supporters and players in all other grades to get along to the major finals.
It should boost crowds, and with more people able to attend it should also make it more viable for host clubs to have more food/drinks etc available.
(I'd also consider making sure the GF venues don't correspond to sides playing in either GF - if it was workable)

In the great southern cricket association when it comes to finals they have 1st v 2nd winner straight into grand final, loser plays the winner of 3rd v 4th then who ever wins the prelim fianl takes on the team already into the gf.

Bar facilities will be open at Sandy Creek for the final, unfortunately (for you) i'll be the one serving. Mid strengths and Draught are $3 a can, full strength beers are $4 and spirit cans are $6. Come spend your money and watch some cricket played at a great venue (hope to see you there Stewie)

Stewie might pass on the offer and take his own esky. That’s if he's not busy modeling for another Sportspower catalogue. :D

Just went past Sandy on the way home from work, looks like the colts were moved to a hard wicket ground.
Would be very surprised if any play today, was still raining and the outfield looked soaked.
The ground staff will do well to get play today, looks like a one dayer tomorrow

Well I was wrong, well done to the groundsman at Sandy, only lost about an hour here.
Havnt gone for a wander to the scorers yet but Centrals look well on top, id say Gilbert Valley would be 6 for maybe 50 tops. The Tigers look very impressive

Gilbert Valley rolled in the 120's
Centrals were about 1/14 when i left, jimmy looked to have injured himself, was bowling with good heat up to then.
Tigers to chase it down easily id think

Yes well done to Graham and the team to get the pitch going today, Pitch will be a belter to bat on tomorrow after the first tenish overs. GV will need to capitalise with a few early ones. On another note, would like to thank both teams for cleaning up all their rubbish after the game it was much appreciated. Good job lads

A2s Nuri all out 150 with Sandy 3/45 in return

A3s one dayer tomorrow

Would think the Tigers strong batting line up should reel that total in comfortably.
Havnt seen much of the 2's this year but Nuri's bowling appears fairly strong and the Cockies losing a few late wickets yesterday sets up an interesting finish, i believe the Nuri last wicket partnershi was close to 50 aswell which is very crucial.
Anyone know the story with the 3's getting called off on hardwicket when most turf games went ahead? Must of pissed down at Ango

Well done to Gilbert Valley on the win, must of been one hell of a day yesterday. I do believe i might have picked the Bulls as my smokey team this year, well done guys. Heard a rumour at the A3 game that most of the recruits that went to GC are leaving next year, surely this cant be true after a successful year, would of thought there was unfinished business

And a well done to Sandy Creek for the oval etc on the weekend, did a great job, congrats to all concerned. GV deserved winners, just shows that runs on the board to start with always seem harder to catch the second day. Can't see why the recruits would leave GC, would be a shock? Did that come from GC people at the game? Extractor will be on straightaway to deny this :)

wouldnt surprise me is fracka is on the move again , hear a rumor that kilburn was looking good for next year , at least they are playing in a grade that fracka may be able to handle ;)

Ps absolutely no disrespect meant to the kilburn cricket club
There once was a bloke named Fracka,
Scored runs since he was a young tacka,
But alas not anymore,
his shot selection's been poor,
and now they call him QUACKA!!
