A bloke i know loves the sledge, but reckons he wouldnt do it if he wasnt a quick bowler and was just a batsman - seems more likely it comes back to bite you as a batsman

It's looking better than the last one... ;)

Thanks for the intro though Phantom, I've just found out that we've been able to secure turf wicket training facilities at Prospect Oval, commencing next Wednesday, 17th of November. Our previous arrangement with Flinders Park fell through at the 11th hour because one of their junior sides decided to train on the night we had booked - and obviously they have an obligation to their own teams.. ;) Not that this was any consolation at the time. A big THANKYOU to Darel Hart and the PROSPECT CRICKET CLUB for coming to our aid in a time of need. 8)

I will flick out an email, do a post on here and update the C&CCA website once the final details have been confirmed.

I'd just like to thank the members of SA Footy who sent me PM's regarding several potential options. Unfortunately a couple of those options did not eventuate for one reason or another. Another option was to play against Ingle Farm's Div 1 side in a trial, but due to the training, T20 and SAMCA one-day schedule between now and Xmas, this option is now not possible. But thanks again guys for answering the call for help. Greatly appreciated. 8)

Gonna give us an indication of a squad herder or keeping it on the down low? ;)

I think:

T. Hodson
A. Frith
J. Smith
R. Marshall
S. Holland
P. Atkins
A. Balding
J. Vines
A. Gully

would be a good core group, then you have :

P. Graham - Handy bowler can bat a bit, played Imparja cup so "carnival" experience
M. Cossens - depends whether he wants to go around again, would be 1st choice keeper IMO
S. Giglio - Cant see this eventuating, too old and battered
P. Wright - young and agile, can bat and bowl, not sure how he would fit into the mix though
M. Stancl - Outstanding past couple of seasons with the bat but is he keen?
R. Gorski - hmm bit of a left field one this, def has skills but lacks the fitness for 5 days of cricket and bit inconsistant IMO
D. Placcuci - need a slow bowler
T. Roling - Young and oozes potential, think it would be beneficial for him and the assoc to gain the experience.
M. Spry - Same as T. Roling

My money is on A. Frith to snag an all australian cap this year, i also think he is a real strong chance to become the 6th SA player to knotch up a carnival 100! (and the 1st since 2006 :P )

Hoddo should've had that honor 2 years ago but unfortunately it wasnt to be :(

good core group there phantom i would add bryce norton from paralowie very good off spin bowler and an under rated batsmen.

pete graham  cross him of the list mate i'm almost sick of trying with this lad its a shame a kid with that much talent and potenial and doesnt want to use it!
