Why will he struggle on turf?
I just don't think he is any good.

But none the less, cricket season in upon us.
I went to view Pooraka vs Modbury, this was in no way attached to a previous post to do with Poorakas strength, but sadly, I can only compare poorakas bite to being corresed with a natural yogurt, in comparison to their V8 bark.
The worst player of the game would be Mr Christophers, it seemed to me that his mannerisms suited a coaching role, and to get out in the manner that he did was not from that ilk, he must impose a “do as I say not as I do mantra”. I am assuming that a coach gets paid, lets go with $200 dollars a game, that’s $40s a run, it would have made economic sense to have paid sundries, better value for money.
The player of the game would be Mr Virgens , although he lacked penetration, his willingness to keep putting his balls in the right place will undoubtedly earn due rewards in the coming fixtures. And going for just 3 an over in a 20-20 game is excellent, with a maiden, (one could only assume a virgen too?)

It's still the same, but ive caught the cricket bug this year and want to liven this place up again! Because its something else to talk about on a Saturday! And to click on at work!
So here are my predictions for this season,
A1-Where the don't just play because they love the game, the professionals.
Woodville Rech to win, although this could their last horrah with some of their big guns contracts up.
Marion to go down. Been lucky to stay up, and heard they are losing some of their youngsters due to lack of opportunity.
A2- Real cricket, Woodville South to win, got a few solid players heading up their a grade, more than enough to put in performances every week.
Brahma Lodge to go down, honey moon over, one olayer isn't enough here, and a2 has bowlers that can bowl a whole over in the right place!
A3- underarm, onehand onebounce rubber ball cricket. Reynella to win, got some promesing young guns and a3 should suit them well, dont think they will cruise it, but with a game to spare.
Hectorville to go down, not the playing group, more the hierarchy in the club, a few cracks starting to show, hope they get over it before it effects on field activities!
-side note, who is hope valley's backer? Looks like they have recruited some decent players, but like man city first few years with all thos egos, no success.
A4- No one cares!!

I reckon it is because the main contributors to the forum from Ingle Farm are all now " Old retired Bastards"...![]()
We could always contribute in the way your good self does Merki, or your mate #Hashtag, as I must say it is very amusing, but I think we will leave that to you guys..

We actually went to the bank and took out a loan. We crunched the numbers and realised by getting these blokes to the club, with all the extra bar takings, this would generate enough income to service that loan for the next 20 years , and by then it would be somebody elses problem to deal with. We are all about short term success

Where did you see him play?
I guess it depends on what level you are comparing him too - I think he will be more than handy at A4

I have seen him play on cricket fields. That's what I'm basing my opinion on.
What do you rate as being more than handy?? How many runs will he make this season??
By the way, I think three quarters of my daughters netball team would be handy at A4!!

Just because you now are "old retired bastards", doesn't mean you go into hiding. A man of your stature and with your experience should still have some pearls of wisdom to pass on!!
P.S. Will it be an interesting fixture when Ingle Farm meet Para Hills this season??

#hashtag wrote:Don't really like A1 but here is a round 1 preview:
PAOC vs Marion: Not too difficult this one. Prince Alfred has been strong for some time, and like I have said earlier, Marion were lucky last season. Princes at a canter.
Pembroke vs Goodwood: With the loss of Martin being a big one to cover, Goodwood will take time to find their feet, however I expect them to account for Pembroke easily.
Payneham vs Grange: Toughest of the round, and would definitely be an interesting one to watch while digesting a cheese and vegemite roll. Grange in a tight one.
Pultney vs Brighton: Brighton have too much talent across the board. This may be the first outright of the season.
Woodville Rech. vs AHOS: With the money it takes to get Woody Rech on the park each Saturday, it will be an expensive loss. Duffett once again will carry this team on his broad, stocky shoulders. Woodville Rech to win.
So there it is, basically comes down to which team wants more coin in that particular week, big phone bill, better make some runs.
And it looks like there is a man city in a3 also, buying that flag (20k, how farsicle) sure to be supporting whoever is playing hope valley.
