Bomber, we did some to our hard wicket pitch about five years ago.
Some wa*ker did burn outs on it.
It depends how much work you have to do but you can do it yourself if you've got enough good handymen around the place.
We bought enough synthetic turf from a dealer (I think through the Cricket Warehouse in Adelaide) and then got hold off some glue that carpet layers use.
We then cut out the offending bits and replaced them with same size pieces.
For us that was perfect as it was only two small areas that we fixed.
Not sure if that helps, however, start with the Cricket Warehouse, as I'm pretty certain they can lay it for you (at a high cost) or at least put you on to someone who does it.
Any major sports store should also have a dealer who they can put you on to.
Or try a synthetic grass company, as they ashould be able to point you in the right direction.
