Hello All,

Can anyone here provide an up-to-date list of the SANFL 200 Club?

I remember seeing the list in the Football Times Yearbooks many years ago and am wondering what the list would look like now.

Go to the league website, history, awards, player life members.

Thanks for your response but the Player Life Members list via the SANFL Site displays all the player life members.

I'm chasing a current list of all SANFL players who played 200 league games - was traditionally known as the 200 Club.

For example, Roger Dunn of Sturt is in the Player Life Members list and was awarded the membership in 1969.

But he played only 139 matches for Sturt ending in 1968.

This is what the official records show i.e. includes matches credited for war service, and night series matches. As you can see, recent times I have a lack of State Game data:

Whats the most games of reserves football played in the SANFL.

I just bumped into Justin Casserly and it reminded me of how reserves football he seemed to play. Brad Currie in the early 2000's was also the same until he eventually got his league crack.

I would doubt many these days would ever crack 100 reserves games but could be wrong.

Billy Thomas (Port and North) and "Brick" Hoffman (Port) both played 100 League and 100 Seconds Games.
Billy Thomas played in 5 Seconds premierships for Port, but was always behind Fos Williams, Tommy Williams and then Jeff Potter as a league rover. He transferred to North in 1960 and not only played in North's league premiership side, but he also was North's best player in the 1960 Second Semi Final when North beat Port by 10 points.
I believe Malcolm Ellis played 95 league and 120 Reserves games for North between 1977 and 1987. Something in the back of mind suggests that Ian Willsmore played 100 Reserves games for North, too. I also think that Reggie Gibson played 100 Seconds games for Torrens in the early 1960s. He was Bob (Slug) Gibson's brother.

I wonder if any of the Woodville or Centrals players from 1959-1963 (i.e. when they only played the reserves competition) continued to play reserves footy for a significant period of time from 1964.

Gary Window apparently played 120 reserves games during that period, but presumably very few if any afterwards.

Probably not exactly the answer Whuffer is after, but I suspect a few Woodville or Centrals players from that era would feature in terms of having played the most games at reserves level.

Would like to know how many reserves matches Dean Renfrey played at Norwood, would have to be up there.

Reckon McLeod from the Bays would certainly be approaching the 100 mark, if not already over

Darren Chandler would've played at least 100 Ressies games between West and the Bays in the 90s

Dennis "Bear" Eblen 1979 2s GF Captain would have got close to 100 2s games during the 70s at the club

As RIG said during the 70s and 80s each club would've had a number of bloody good depth players that just hung around happily playing and training for the chance of a league game at the clubs they loved.

Yes there were players that came and went and after they finished uni and went country (like what happens now) or SAFA but a number stayed involved at their league clubs.

Duane Stewart another at Norwood around the same time who played heaps of reserves, I reckon there might be a few more there during the 80’s.

How many 2's games did Ian Willmott play before he got his chance at Sturt?

In more recent times Brendan Papps at the Eagles seemed to play a number of seasons in the reserves, more than others seem to hang around for,

Seem to recall a discussion here that maybe there was a Norwood player who played a league game in the last 50's and then his next one in 1970?

John McInnes. There was a story to this bloke - I can't for the life of me remember what it was, but I think he played in the country or something. I'm pretty sure he wasn't at Norwood the whole time.
