I have seen three different scores for this game.
10.10.70 to 8.10.58
10.11.71 to 8.10.58 and
10.11.71 to 9.10.64.
What is the correct one and why are there such discrepancies for this game?

Wasn't the Grand Final, was the Challenge Final (North won the Final the week before).
I've only ever seen 10.11 to 8.10 for the Challenge Final (to West) and 8.3 to 6.11 for the final (to North) the week before.

FWIW, the Advertiser's write up the following Monday had West 10.10, North 8.10.

Reckon another ripple occurred in about 1990 and they disappeared for good.

You are technically correct that there was a Challenge Final, but historically the final game of the year has been referred to as the Grand Final. Check the AFL/VFL records and for all years since 1897 they refer to the premiership deciding match as the Grand Final.

The SANFL has always followed suit.
