'1964 - A Game, A Season, A State' - a book by Mike Sexton

Having recently read this book, I can say that it is a really great read and compulsory reading for any sanfl follower, no matter where there loyalties lie.
It gives a great rundown on the sanfl scene in those times, the suburban warefare that existed if you like! the bitter clearance wrangles of the time and the introduction of 2 new teams, Centrals and Woodville into the league. It also delves into the history of all clubs and the author has obviously done some serious research into the issues of the time.
The book contains a fair bit about South Adelaide as they won the premiership in 1964 but it really is a great read, particularly for those who never witnessed the sanfl prior to the introduction of the Crows.
I thoroughly recommend it.
