North finished 8th this year with a win loss record of 7 wins 13 losses yet had a percentage of more than 50%.

I know that North finished 8th in 1984 (in a ten team competition) with 6 wins and 16 losses yet remarkably had a percentage of more than 50%.

Are these the only two times a team has finished as low as 8th yet had a percentage of more than 50%?

Sorry to jump in ahead of spelly but the answer is 'yes' and with a similar lapse in time, Sturt's percentage this year was the best for a bottom side since the Woodville of 1985.

I wouldn't mind betting that Glenelg's percentage - and indeed overall record - was the worst for the 4th placed team over the same period, if not longer. (Spelly?) There really was not much difference between 4th and bottom this year. Sturt can consider itself a little unlucky - and the Bays lucky.

Sorry again spelly, but I thought I'd strike while the iron was hot. The last team to finish 4th with a worse record than the Bays was the Norwood of 1958 which finished the minor round 7-10-1, while the last team to finish 4th with a worse percentage was the Sturt of 1912 at 44.00%.
