Brian Adamson clearance wrangle

This issue, wherein West Perth footballer Brian Adamson sought a clearance to Norwood, was touched on in the 'WAFL recruits from the 80's onwards' thread.

This saga occured in 1978 and it went as far as the High Court. I was too young to remember much about it but I have read some snippets in books etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts/recollections about this matter?
