What year did the S.A.N.F.L. change the time duration of a quarter from 25 minutes plus time-on to 20 minutes plus time-on???

I reckon at the start of 1995. I ask this because I also want to know what year was it in the mid 90s did Norwood beat Centrals at Elizabeth by a point.

It was changed for the 1996 season. And that match was in 1996.

Round 19 1996
Norwood 3.0 7.1 10.1 12.2 (74)
Central 3.2 7.4 10.6 11.7 (73)
Elizabeth, 5748

That was the match where the quarter went for 23 minutes and Centrals forgot to paint the timeclock from the 20 minute mark to 25 minute mark in yellow to reflect the change. So when the siren went everyone went nuts cos it still showed 2 minutes before time-on.

I think we should go back to those 25 minute quarters.

There's definitely for and against arguments for it.

It only adds about 2 to 3 minutes per quarter, but I can't see why it produces more injuries.
